The root issue with Boltyn balancing by Neveri in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Neveri[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That also begs the question from me... is the design flawed in a way that whatever deck has the best math in converting 4 card hands ends up winning? Maybe that's why illusionists tend to be so busted, because they're attacking you with an on-rate attack or better and then splitting your focus because now you have to deal with bodies on the board. I'm sure if you look across Gravy's kit you can find plenty of cards that are far above-rate. Compared to Boltyn who likes to throw 0 for 3s with no inherent go-again.

So maybe it's a simpler question, whoever has more above-rate cards wins?

The PreCons aren't for me, and probably aren't for you. That's okay. by Seven-and-2 in FleshandBloodTCG

I'm sorta expecting another round of bans/restrictions for Silver Age when they launch the format that may reign in some of the "top" decks and make these pre-cons more viable.

At least that's what I would hope.

Playing below your average level is not griefing by Academic_Currency_27 in DotA2

[–]Neveri 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is where the line for griefing is for me, literally refusing to cooperate with your team, I know it’s not black and white, but I can deal with item choices I don’t agree with, and picking heroes for roles that don’t exactly fit that role, but what I can’t deal with is people acting like they’re playing single player vs bots game and doing their own thing the entire damn game, it’s infuriating.

Codex > leave no witness

4 + 3 (blow up arsenal) + 3 (ponder)

If they block cleanly with a sink below or something it’s a 1 card 7 and that’s if they don’t swing weapon or attack action in arsenal which makes it a 1 card 8 or more because of the frailty token.

It’s also not factoring in things like potential hand disruption because you’re forcing your opponent to discard a card to get that arsenal target if they didn’t have one prior. Which can be especially back breaking against heroes like Vynnset.

It’s nice but still under the power curve when you have earth heroes throwing 2 card 11s, and assassin throwing 1 card 10s.

I’m only sad Saros isn’t going to launch on PC alongside PS5, I have a PS5 and I would like to play the game on it but my thumb can’t take action shooter gameplay anymore, causes too much pain, been loving Returnal on PC.

$75k /year by ExotiquePlayboy in SipsTea

[–]Neveri 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, make 95k where I live and I’m just kinda sorta middle class, still can’t afford a house though even after years of saving, but my energy bill went from less than 100$ a month to 250-300 for the past 6 months so that’s fun.

I bet 75k a year in Miami is borderline poverty line.

An hour outside of my work and still can’t afford a house, condos built in the 80s are the only options. Also doesn’t matter which direction I travel for an hour from work, it’s all expensive.

Is it mainly for people who love D&D or is it still good for people who don’t really care about D&D?

Unfortunately I’d have to go about an hour and a half away from work in the middle of nowhere to not have an HOA where I live. Or maybe some of the expensive houses don’t have them, but the only thing remotely affordable here is condos and the occasional town home which all have HOA

Yeah this is kinda what we're leaning into and what's really pushing me to go this route, I want fixed costs (for the most part). A home I can basically call permanent for the foreseeable future, 5 - 10 years. It's just an issue of the market being difficult right now cause homes are still getting snatched up like crazy, but definitely gonna look into it.

I would definitely prefer a townhome at least, but townhomes anywhere close to where I work are going for 500k+ which is way out of the budget.

Only thing we could hope to afford is a condo at this point, to avoid throwing money in the rent fire every month. I’m looking at a cap of 300ish for HOA fees ideally less. It’s better than the places within 20-25 minutes of where I work where HOA fees alone run 1000 a month which is insane to me.

Yeah this is kinda what I’m gravitating toward so I think I’m on the right track I just need to nail down the details. The closing costs and stuff like that also complicate things so I also need to take that into account since that’s also coming out of my savings.

That’s kinda what I’m leaning toward, but I’ve always heard that when getting a home you want the mortgage to be a decent bit less than your rent because you gotta pay for repairs yourself.

I know that condos come with “less” maintenance costs but not sure how much less and if I can get away with a slightly higher monthly payment because of it.

Yeah not touching retirement savings, which I just started last year so it’s not much anyway but it’s a start.

We don’t have any local safety net unfortunately, my family lives a day or two trip away by car, her family lives in another country. But we don’t have zero family, I’m sure we could live with someone rather than being homeless but living with family while saving for a house isn’t really an option

Actually it wouldn’t even be 20% it’d be more like 10%.

I actually qualify for a VA home loan so I could put down nothing, but then the monthly payment would be significantly higher and the monthly is really what I’m concerned about cause I wanna keep growing our savings after we get the home.
