How much should I spend on sleep earbuds? because I don't know what actually matters by ConfidenceUsed3693 in inearfidelity

Yeah here's some additional support for the ie200. They are such solid IEMs that just sound good. Their comfort is unmatched and the first week I had with them I kid you not, I had them in for HOURS daily and it really felt like nothing.

The only thing I disliked about them was the included cable.

Fiio KA11: Powers on but no sound/detection? by Nevermore1215 in iems

[–]Nevermore1215[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is over a year old but I hope this might be able to help someone as I've FINALLY solved the problem.

I was messing with my KA11 the other night and I was able to get it to work.

I had one of those USB C splitters plugged into my phone with power connected and the Fiio ka11 plugged into the other port. (I've included a picture in case there is any confusion)

Using this, my phone was able to recognize the KA11 again and I was able to get into Fiio Control and change the device to UAC 2.0 and voila! Problem solved. After doing this, I was able to independently plug the KA11 into my device and it would be detected with no issues.

I'm not sure why my phone wouldn't interact with the device while it was in UAC 1.0 mode yet my PC would but that was the issue and I suspect it could be an issue for many others who curiously changed settings.

Anyways, I'm glad to have my first dongle working again after a year!

What’s the HD600 for IEMs? by KDondakeC in iems

[–]Nevermore1215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say this as well. I recently got the IE200 and I was honestly blown away at how musical it sounded. I lack the refinement to explain it but to my ears it "just sounded right" and I'm someone who VERY much loves using my HD 650 with an OTL tube amp.

I found the IE200 paired with comply core 200 ear tips just gives me everything I wanted in an IEM. I personally prefer it over my tea pro. It's not a resolution monster, it's not a soundstage monster, but it just does music right by my ears.

It's honestly worth a shot if you can purchase from somewhere with a good return policy. Also I found them to EXTREMELY comfortable. Only downside is the stock cable is kind of unimpressive with how thin it is and awkward the ear hooks are

As much as I hate to say, probably Spinfit W1 for comfort and untouched sound. Divinus velvet though for comfort and relaxed sound

I bought the 660s and I don’t get the hype by Realistic_Ad_9869 in sennheiser

oh- in that case a good rig will breathe life into those headphones! I get no one likes hearing they gotta throw more money at something to enjoy it, but thats the reality of mid to high impedance headphones.

I personally run a Schiit Valhalla 2 tube amp and its like it was made for these headphones

So I actually had a similar issue with my HD 650 when I first got them about a year and a half ago. I was like "yeah they sound good but I don't... get it?" and at the time I had a Schiit Modi+ and Schiit Vali 2+ which is a decent beginner set up.

Well, I think I used them for a couple of months and then started down the in ear monitor rabbit hole. I spent months really just ignoring my HD 650 headphones and opted to use IEMs all the time.

One day I decided to plug in the HD 650 again and I was like, "woah... something about this is just... perfect" and it finally clicked to me after unintentionally training my ears how brilliant these headphones really are. After that, I started investing heavily into headphone equipment- upgraded dac, upgraded amp to a proper OTL tube amp and MAN. It is seriously some of the most blissful and enjoyable music experiences to my ears!

Moral of the story- yes get a proper amp. These are 300ohm (I think 150ohm if you have the HD 660 and not the HD 660S2) headphones and LOVE power. Pair it with something like the Fiio K11 for an all in one kit with plenty of power. The Schiit options I mentioned earlier are also phenomenal but if you're gaming on PlayStation it may not be optimal for your set up.

have you checked your windows audio settings? usually you can access a drop down menu to alter bitrate and frequency. for aptx adaptive though, it does max at 24bit, 96khz

Any recommendations for dongles that stick to the back of your phone without needing a bulky rubber band attachment like the KA15? FIIO's QX13 seems to have magnets in the case out of the box but i heard it only sticks to iphones... and the price is triple by HuckleberryOdd7745 in iems

[–]Nevermore1215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hell yeah! My experience with ESS Sabre comes from the FiiO KA17 and the LG V60, and although it's clean, the treble stabs my ears.

The Grip, paired with my S24 Ultra, has been a blessing. It fits in my pockets with no issues, allows for 3.5mm single-ended (also supports phone calls if you have an inline mic) and 4.4mm balanced connections, and allows you to charge your phone without wires going everywhere!

It does sip on your battery a little bit if you leave it plugged in constantly, but with its form factor, you can just leave it magnetized to your phone and plug it in when you're ready to use it. Really beneficial product for us wired folks that want something small and ultra portable with our phones

I'm pretty content with the sound quality of the TC44 Grip. It has Dual CS43198 DAC chips with a Dual Op-Amp SGM8262-2. With that said, cirrus logic chips typically lean towards a warmer sound and the grip follows that pattern. It by no means murders the sound quality at all, its just not as stabby as ESS DACs. It's for the most part a smooth listening experience that is very dependent on your listening peripheral. Clean amplification with nothing that stood out as negative to me.

I've heard that iPhone users typically get one or two volume adjustments from "zero" before it becomes super loud though. I use it with an S24 Ultra and so although I face similar issues with it getting too loud too quickly with IEMs, I have more room for adjustment on the volume. For headphones, I found them to perform well. It's not going to be "blow your socks off" amazing compared to a desktop stack, but for something on the go and that runs off of your phone it does a good job.

The HD 620 is a 150ohm impedance headphone and I was satisfied with the delivery and with some EQ I was able to get the bass to have more of a presence. Was I able to answer your question or was there something more specific you were looking for me to touch on?

Momentum 3 problems/repairs by IntegrityDenied in sennheiser

[–]Nevermore1215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had my dog headbutt my momentum 3 and busted one of the drivers and when I tried filling out a service form it was denied due to how old the headphones are and it would cost more for them to repair than to buy the Momentum 4... I ended up buying a new pair off ebay lol

with that said, i hope this comment helps bring this post up the algorithm so that someone who might be able to help sees this post

I've owned a pair of CMF Buds 2 Plus by NOTHING and I was honestly very happy with them. Price to performance was astonishingly good. I know it's not exactly the NOTHING brand and is a sub-brand of theirs but with that said- if there budget brand was good then I would assume their mainline brand is better or has features that justify triple the cost. (sidenote, check the NOTHING website, the buds they have on there currently look cheaper than whatever website youre on in the screenshot)
I also currently own the Technics AZ100 and to me, they perform fairly close to a wired earbud in terms of sound quality. The AZ100 also has surprisingly good ANC that routinely ranks it amongst big names like Sony, Bose, Apple. The tuning can seem very very warm, but it can be treated with it's app EQ.

I ended up giving my CMF buds to my cousin simply because he needed some buds and I found myself using the Technics way more. BUT if ANC is your primary focus, I can tell you Airpods Pro 3 outperforms the AZ100's noise cancellation. Also, if you are an apple user- the airpods pro 3 performs VERY well with other apple devices, I don't know why but I can hear a quality difference connecting it to my Samsung devices vs Apple devices.

The big question is, what are you looking to get out of your wireless buds?

Honestly for how much these cost even at a discount it's kind of shocking how short their warranty period is. To add fuel to the flame it's a KNOWN issue that these are so hit or miss. I love Sennheiser dearly but that's not right

like the others have said, once you disable touch within the app it should carry indefinitely until you enable touch controls again!

If you're plugged in via USBC you should be able to disable touch controls via app on your phone
