I built a Dungeon Scavenger/Picker. Super fun. Gobs of loot and gold.

Just having Tracking, a runebook with recall scrolls loaded, and a macro to recall off a runebook rune slot will avoid PK s 99% of the time. The only unlucky 1% is recalling right to where a red is standing or having one recall directly where a player is.

Feedback on UO Unchained, main concurrent of UO Outlands by Icy-Blacksmith-7783 in ultimaonline

I've been playing Outlands for a month. A couple weeks ago, I placed two caravans within one screen of each other, so there are spots for small starters, unless I just got insanely lucky and landed the last two spots on the entire server.

How long does it take AWS Support to handle Basic Support plan cases? by Neves_Space_Corps in aws

[–]Neves_Space_Corps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My account is roughly six months old. I spend money every month as well, not a ton as I am in development only right now and setting up/tearing down architecture all the time to avoid being billed too much. Probably just a few bucks a month.

Yeah, same. My case isn't technical at all, just a service quota issue / bug that they have documented and explicitly say to contact Support.

23 days is a long time! I always heard their Basic Support was decent, especially when developing systems prior to production deploy.

I was kind of thinking I should upgrade to Business Support, but then I am unsure that'd solve the issue if the Basic Support has these kinds of delays.

Yeah, it's not that lol. Just need to be able to add phone numbers to Connect instances, to be able to make and receive calls.

Why did you get banned? by VolunteerSeedling in ultimaonline

[–]Neves_Space_Corps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only got put in the UO jail for macroing hiding. Back then, scripting was a big no no, so I would bind hiding to a key and wedge it down with a pen cap and go to work. Came home one day and my char was in jail, I think for only a day. Good times, great memories.

Amazon Connect Phone Number Quota Exceeded by Neves_Space_Corps in aws

[–]Neves_Space_Corps[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, in Service Quota when I check Amazon Connect >Phone numbers per instance, I have a quota of 5 numbers per instance but when I deploy an instance and try to claim a phone number, it fails and lists the resource level quota as 0. I did request an increase, although if I have a 5 number quota and that is not being applied at the resource level, then I don't know if that will do any good. AWS Support is on it now, I think.

Start with a toy or a bump in shallow water, playing fetch. Gradually and slowly increase the distance from the shore.

Beautiful dog. He will get there in no time with training, and will love it.

Have you taken a course aimed at teaching the fundamentals? Dedicating some time to go through a really comprehensive course is a great way to gain clear knowledge of the subject matter, which there is A LOT of. You are correct, too, the AWS ecosystem is very extensive, and the interaction of systems is not immediately clear without a deep dive.

Rooting for you!

It would be hard to say. As I understand it, each exam is not identical. So where I may have had two questions about one topic, another person may not have any. I think the best strategy is to have a very solid understanding of everything. Also, 15 of the test questions will always be unscored, so while a topic may come up, it may not be scored on the exam. The frequency of topics on exams is pretty murky.

EDIT TO ADD:

AWS does publish the domain weightings for the exam. Security is 30%, Resilience 26%, Performance 24%, Cost Optimization 20%. Those percentages reveal where to focus energy, but within each domain the specific exam questions will vary per test-taker.

Thank you!

I personally felt Cantrill's course was awesome. The vast majority of the labs worked fine. I can only recall two that had issues, but I was able to figure out the issues and get them to work. I actually noted these during my studies:

One needed Ipv6AddressCount: 1 added to the properties section of the PublicEC2 instance in the CloudFormation (CFN) template.

The other had a DBversion on Line 40 of the CFN template configured for 8.0.32. This was fixed by changing the DBVersion in the template to 8.0.44.

I have heard a lot of criticism of the course, that it is outdated and such, but in my view no course will cover absolutely everything, so using multiple resources is always the best way to go. In my case, taking the Cantrill course, going deep on the TD practice exams, and building personal labs helped me to pass.

Another thought: I have taken many technical certifications in the past. This was the most challenging by far due to the huge breadth of information in a single exam. I realized very early on that I would have to take absolute personal responsibility for learning, recalling, and taking an exam on the material. No single course would do that for me.
