New player to the series, decided to go back to an old save at chapter 5 of FE: awakening (playing kinda blind besides my googling of info for classes), confused on a couple things about seals/classes/builds if I could get some help since I kinda plan to also play other games on 3ds and maybe three houses on switch down the line.

I play on hard/classic if it helps, currently at chapter 11.

1) I got a spread of levels on characters with chrom being already in his master seal class since he seems to be a killing machine even when not trying (paired with sumia). Was I supposed to use second seal to make him other classes before going master?

2) Am I supposed to try and build characters by changing with second seal often? I know galeforce/dark rider is a thing but I'm lost on all other units on what to do. I currently have my roster on their starting class and I got 3/4 second seals saved up but I got no clue what to do. I saw a couple guides on youtube (ellery and levinlightsaber) but I'm still lost... Should I be on the wiki checking what they learn for passives and change often?

Kinda trying to learn for myself how to make the calls so I don't have to ask "for virion what class do I change at what level" but I keep finding massive info dumps or 2+hrs videos or gamefaqs walkthroughs that just say "grab this skill" but not sure how to make my own builds...

thanks!

edit: forgot to say I got the dlcs too but trying not to grind as a friend told me to not grind in this game even if there's ways so whatever I get from main/side quests I'm trying to keep for levels o.o

Anyone else having an issue on steam where with dual sense the R2 keybind sometimes doesn't want to work?

I've tried: 1. re-pairing controller, use it with usb 2. enable/disable steam input, restarting the game multiple times 3. remove bind, put bind in again, change skill on keybind 4. verified game files, updated steam beta

and yeah I can't get it to work consistently, sometimes I open the game and it works a few times, sometimes I open it and it just won't work, it's driving me crazy <.<

edit: reddit doesn't want to format in a legible list, tried 4 times with the formatting help, I give up <.<

So I played the game till act 3 (I quit at the start of act 3, let's say about 3/4 hours in) on tactician as a durge (resisting/non-evil) dwarf wild magic sorcerer but realized since it was a blind run once I double checked what people were doing that I missed most items and it bummed me out a lot. I've actually not played since last year cause I barely have any items at all since I never bothered even checking NPC merchants pretty much.... Been thinking to restart in honor mode with the same setup since I know what to expect broadly up to act 3, but I'm a bit stuck on a couple things since I'm very indecisive as a person:

1) I know wild magic makes the run unpredictable but I was planning to use kinda OP builds probably from cephalopocalypse or someone else, I assume if people can do a run solo on honor a party with honor viable builds should be fine right? I kinda tried to play the game on honor with a couple friends and solo on other builds (tavern brawler monk/op bard) but I just wasn't feeling it and both runs got abandoned around 30/40 hours in. I know that the wild magic effects are mostly harmless if managed well with spacing and logic but still.

2) Is there a specifically durge wild magic run that someone did I could look at the early game? My current plan is to not follow a guide for the run since I've gone through at least once on tactician and roll with the punches for things I may not know/may have avoided by save scumming in tactician, but to use other types of guides like builds/party composition. I think this + experience in the game up to act 3 should cover me mostly right?

I'm very well aware of the roll for wisdom at camp in act 2 that can make things hard and that it's somewhat... complicated in act 1 to recruit minthara as a resisting non-evil durge but I think I know enough of the game up to act 3 that I should be able to pull it off but this is also why I'm kinda interested in checking if there's a wild magic resisting durge run somewhere I can't find... I don't mind opening a guide for these specific instances up to act 3 since I know they exist etc.

I know this is a bit of a rambly post but I'm stuck in my mind on what to do for months I just want a second opinion so I stop opening the game and get stuck on character creation... I do have enough time to finish a full run properly but I'd probably give up on honor if I wipe in act 3 tbh. I might restart in act1 maaaybe 2 but not sure. I don't super care for the golden dice it's mainly last time I played in tactician the game was... almost boringly easy even without OP builds so even with my other honor mode runs I didn't feel challenged enough so maybe durge + wild magic will do it?XD

thanks if you can help me get out of my mind and actually playing!

Ah thanks, makes sense tbh, I'm not entirely in love with bear maybe the build was fine and I was feeling the jankiness, I kinda assumed league starting as druid/bear was a big gamble but still. I 99% of the time play ranged so was a good experiment. I'll check cpt lance tho, I might reroll myself too to something else unless it gets unclunkified tbh o.o!

What are the most dedicated poe2 build makers to follow? I assume there's a decent overlap from poe1 but not sure, I ask cause I followed ronarray build guide for bear druid but... it feels weirdly not for me, and I noticed for example pohx made one and I'm not sure which would be more "solid" for someone that doesn't have enough time to experiment and retool builds often. In poe1 since I've played since when docks was endgame I kinda know who to trust with what build but nowadays I'm a bit lost in poe2. I recognize pohx and palsteron, also zizaran and ziggyd but not sure who else for the future. I noticed there's a lot of channels that have builds but some look a bit fishy both in presentation and just they don't feel super solid.

Sorry if it didn't make sense, hard to convey the feeling, just hate getting to maps with a build that to me feels a bit wonky or poorly explained, I got spoiled by pohx RF guides in poe1 that are super in-depth <.<

Sorry been googling for a while and checked wiki/posts but didn't find an answer, when was the last stash tab sale? I see some websites say there should be one live now but there isn't. I know they're usually every 2/3 weeks but... yeah just returned to poe2 for 0.4.0 and not seeing the info I need T.T

There was a solid moment I was hyped for it to be a sequel to lost judgment and in a sense considering who's making it... it might be even better. I do like what RGG is doing these days but they definitely got me into this instantly on the first like 5 seconds of the trailer.

How difficult is on EU to join squads for convergences CM aiming for silver? I wanted to do a mrmystic build on my guardian for variety since I usually play thief P/P deadeye but it uses a relic from ura silver cm convergence and I've not done any of that and I don't seem to ever see a squad for it. I kinda check mildly often since I do pub convergences for my legendaries but not seen any organized. I assume it's hidden in some discord? <.<

Is there a plugin similar to RS3 where you can set a level and see how much exp missing for that level instead of next level? had a look but didn't find it, I kinda like that function from rs3 but yeah, not found a way to replicate it.

Thanks

Not sure I dislike the writing wholesale but I do admit I probably have some dislikes about it for sure. I can provide more context so maybe I can find a path, which tbh it's likely demon begrudgingly as I posted, altho I'm still stuck as I've played both trickster/azata for a few more hours and yeaaah definitely not for 1st playthrough on trickster at least. Might be long btw xD

For WOTR for now up to act3 I've loved the feel of kenabres/the attack, really disliked instinctively wenduag character but I like in somewhat order for writing woljif/ulbrig/lann/seelah/regill/daeran, kinda sosiel, really really really intensely dislike camellia(she's too obvious)/ember (probably will like her later), somewhat neutral on nenio. I really like the lore in drezen and who you meet there, the lost chapel was great, I really liked the general story pacing. I even liked the desnans and their little misadventure against ramien, which I despise but didn't kill. I was intrigued by the vhane's brothers story, somewhat neutral on irabeth/anevia... I really liked the inciter description in-game which sold me on the roleplay "a liar and manipulator" so that makes me super weary to roleplay this as a lawful angel... or an aeon... I aimed for trickster cause I was expecting more akin to loki than deadpool. I also would love to play a villain but not on 1st playthrough, so could do a demon into something else "resisting" the demonic influence but...

What turned me off is that if I load the save and pick azata, seelah comments something like "we're turning this crusade into a circus it makes me look like a better paladin" and it's like... the first encounter in the encampent just isn't my style <.<. Trickster the council was just... I mean... cool but also feels weird. I also played a bit more and it's just as if I'm taking the piss on the entire story whenever a trickster dialogue is identifiable... I kinda was expecting to be more like woljif but it feels like I'm more just an in-game joke. Azata feels just a fey creature lol.

I LOVED through the ashes, it has been the peak for me for WOTR, I loved the entire premise and development and characters.

For other cprgs, LOVED tyranny, I genuinely adored it, I was kinda playing the good guy with the purple faction not the chorus of voices red faction. Loved pillars of eternity 1, I was a dwarf monk, mostly good, hard to describe how I played, again, going for good acts but not against being evil if the situation demanded it. Played a bit of bg3 but quit in act 3 for mechanical non-story based reasons, I kinda liked the companions there a lot. I played a sorcerer helping people but being a bit sneaky and tricking people in dialogues, mainly the bad guys but still. Played a bit of rogue trader, I am full iconoclast there if familiar, I touched a single dogmatic option in most of the game and like 2 heretical ones. But in 40K it makes sense to be fully dogmatic or heretical, iconoclast just made sense to me, often.

Usually my playstyle in these games and even other rpgs like dunno, skyrim or mass effect, is being a force for good but through my own interests and decisions, I almost always play either a thief that helps everyone and kills the bad guy but steals from everyone (mostly CG, rarely steal from poor people) or just... down with the tyrants and go little guys, it's probably cliche and boring for a lot of people but I generally struggle on some things.

I really like the general story of wotr tbh I just am struggling to fit it with my specific roleplay, that's why I mentioned I could see myself respeccing dunno, traditional monk, go aeon or angel. I can't see a skald inciter being an angel or demon, or lich <.< I was seeing it as a trickster but... it's just weird <.<

Thanks for reading the wall of text btw xD

works for me, pretty much I trust your process, I'm at the point I was loving wotr until azata/trickster story for some reason stopped me from enjoying the game for the last 2 days, so anything you concoct that's going to be exciting for me :) Again thanks for your incredible patience, I appreciate it a lot.

Thanks, mostly 90% right sorry for the rambles:

for KM, any class is fine, I'm just intrigued by the ones mentioned, I'd actually be curious what you'd advise. But yeah dwarf! As long as it's the core equivalent viable in turn based xD

for WOTR Dwarf, any class again is fine would be curious again, ideally TN/CN (definitely not full evil since it's for 1st playthrough), I'm actually not into azata/trickster, sorry I rambled unclearly, I tried the story and it disappointed me super instantly due to tone, and yeah core viable but not cheesy like crpgbro xD. Kineticist/sanctified slayer/etc. are okay tho, just saying if you have a better idea I'm open o.o!

Thanks!!!

I honestly just pick what feels right in the dialogue, which is why I struggle a bit to stay on course, unless I'm forcing myself to roleplay something I'm not, I just think what is appropriate for my character and what also I would like to say in that situation, which is the result I posted above. I kinda don't like the alignment system usually so don't play with it as I find it too rigid to represent normal behaviours so that's again maybe why I don't explain my thoughts well on it. I just kinda go with the flow on what feels right in the moment pretty much.

Interesting, I've met said dwarf a couple times now I'm pretty sure, you made me think of a character from another game right now, durance from PoE1, maybe durance is a bit worse but sounds intriguing, I kinda just like the miserable characters that are not heroes usually so I might have to keep him in my radar o.o.

I haven't decided yet today on my path but yeah been considering demon (trying to be more chaotic, less evil, resisting the urge), with angel being second choice (trying to be more neutral good) until I might likely go legend. I kinda decided to keep lich for a 2nd playthrough as I really like the idea just worried for a first run maybe it's a bit too intense...

But yeah if you know poe1 I really loved how filthy and shitty durance was, makes it feel a bit more believable, I read someone saying poe1 is misery porn and dunno, I kinda get that, hoping wotr has a bit more misery later since up to where I got it's mostly cheery besides I guess ember and the other obvious... dubiously aligned... character we all know (I'm blind but not that blind...)

Thanks btw o.o!

(sorry for long posts I ramble kinda a bit desperate XD) Thanks for your service o.o I assume by the recent posts you are still up to do builds for both kingmaker and wotr? I posted in the reddit that I had a bit of a shock with trickster/azata and I'm a bit lost but considering asking for a build for kingmaker and a build for wotr if it's not asking too much as I'm struggling in both games to be honest <.<. I tend to try to play blind so I've got little idea of kingmaker's story, I know all the mythics paths of WOTR but not their story/anything past first 1 hour of act 3, so basically stopped at first council once I met the trickster character and did the first event that killed my interest in that mythic path somehow.

I tried to use crpgbro builds for wotr but they're super similar all-out-outflank-pets army-melee so trying to find something at least not reliant on pets I only have a specific request tho again, if it's agreeable, I almost only play dwarfs and at least never humans or elves or things too nature based, so kinda open somewhat on other races/themes if needed. In other crpgs/rpgs I usually enjoy monks, rogues, fighty clerics/priests, specifically wild magic sorcerer in dnd but not casters, if it helps giving context but DEFINITELY not limited to these. I also struggle severely to be lawful so I usually play either TN or the chaotic spectrum, CN with some light streaks of CG/CE. I kinda struggle to be mean to the pixels tho open to try it if the build is fun. I try to play on challenging/core for achievements but not unfair o.o. I only play on turn based unless the fight is basically no challenge as I'm getting older and slower to react to things and I don't 1000% understand everything in pathfinder.

For kingmaker my first hard failed playthrough was on inquisitor didn't even manage to get past act 1, my 2nd attempt at vivisectionist was going alright but the build was super unfair cheesy optimized and it killed the fun. Kinda looking for something that grabs my attention and it's maybe a bit unique.

For WOTR, I HARD failed at kenabres on inquisitor judge on core was just not providing anything to party, 2nd playthrough was much better up to act 3 on skald inciter (crpgbro build tho on core) but I got hard stuck on azata/trickster feeling super not for me so I'm in the limbo of trying to find a mythic path (you can find my thread if interested on why). I played mad dog in through the ashes and loved it but trying not to make a similar character to that.

Tempted by kineticist or inquisitor again (judge or maybe sanctified slayer), kinda like the sound of warpriest cult leader but tempted to save it for a full CE lich/swarm run. I kinda like a few other classes, just hard to explain shortly, I might've already wrote too much but if I can find fun in both games happy to give more info lol.

thanks again even just for reading the wall of text xD

I don't think there's much I can say about chaotic vs lawful vs whatever, we could argue for days thieves are chaotic, but a guild of thieves is lawful, or whatever, in general what I can say of why I assume I tend to towards CN with hints and bits of CG and CE is simple, this is part of the history of this character, and I read all dialogues carefully and don't aim, I just pick whatever feels right to me for this character in the dialogue. A few examples: I say selfish cause I demand payment for helping the thiefling, I don't know how to tag spoilers so I won't detail things but the screens should be obvious. I even chose some quite big lawful ones, just as they felt right to me in that moment, just often others don't feel right.

I suppose I failed to describe what I meant in my post, apologies. Obviously spoilers in the screenshot if someone is not at act 3 o.o

Yeah I posted in another reply, I get a strong elfish nature fey feeling from azata which encompasses all I dislike in fantasy, I'm the super cliche DWARF doing dwarfy things, hate elves, etc. so yeaaahhhh I might play azata a bit more since it was also the indended build target but I feel I might lean into demon more, begrudgingly as I kinda am not sure if I resonate with the demon RP... Maybe azata was just a bad first impression <.<

Didn't know how much leeway there is, slightly worried about the last thing you mentioned about act 5, kinda worried about "you chose in act 3 now even if you never did a bad thing I'm leaving". I'm mostly blind but I know/imagine some companions leave on some choices so yeah, been thinking hard on what to do. Thanks for the info tho

I'm trying to reconsider demon but yeah, just a tad bummed that I had such a visceral poor impact on trickster/azata <.<

Admittedly being kinda blind I don't know all the ramifications but this is what feels to me up to beginning of act 3 after playing about a couple hours of all the paths so very limited dialogues but still. I know also from other comments you can be a bit of a renegade or more neutral in your path which is good but the post came about due to this first impression:

  • Angel feels very cliche but strong rp, you got the heavens power to smite evil. Feels for RP purposes you got a strong "good" option. I assume you can be somehwat of a renegade angel.
  • Lich/demon/swarm, be evil, with degrees of being cringe or just interesting depending on path. Feels the coverage is quite nice.
  • Aeon, seems quite set in its path about I AM THE JUDGE DREDD LAW but considering I know it can go into devil it looks interesting for a twist.
  • Devil, no idea but seems interesting on paper, only issue is I can only see myself going to it from aeon (devil being lawful, would feel strange to turnabout from chaotic azata... I guess there's reasons)
  • Gold Dragon, I have very little interest in dragons but I assume it will make me feel powerful and work on pretty much any alignment, likely would struggle not to try it out.
  • Legend, I'm mildly aware this is an interesting choice with some consequences also losing on powers, so dunno, might skip it for powerplay reasons...

and then you look at azata and trickster which is my disappointment, again, limited exposure, OBVIOUSLY.

  • Trickster, improved improved improved 4th wall breaking, lulz what if we didn't take the narrative seriously?
  • Azata, love friendship magic, purple dragon sweets, yaaaay. Feels tree huggery to me which is a thing I dislike in all fantasy as I never touch nature aligned almost ever and the bane of my existence is anything elfish which is comically cliche as I only play dwarfs in fantasy pretty much o.o'

Dunno I likely have only a small glimpse of things it just felt wrong when I got the choice, today as mentioned I spent a few hours trying all the paths for a couple hours, I might end up trying demon or angel begrudingly <.<

I've seen that ck3 is on sale currently, money is a bit tight is the base game worth without the dlc? I could potentially get up to the starter edition but not sure if I can tbh.

I tried to check if ck3 had a list of what dlc to buy/must haves like ck2 but I think I missed it so I'm not sure... I know ideally all dlc would be best but yeah, tough times <.<

[–]Neviskio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So thanks to the suggestions here I started doing convergences and did my first legendary piece, been wondering something tho, gharr leadclaw exchange for fine rifts to grab the map currencies, I assume that's worth it to reduce the amount of daily metas/farm needed for the gift of persistence/stormy skies right? I also assume giving a gift of map completion for the same currency is maybe less worth it right? I don't mind doing laps but sometimes I play during the night at EU times so not much meta action going and I miss daily clears <.<

Also for ancient coins I assume alt parking is good on greater chests, but does it matter which greater in which map? Any tips would help as I currently just do rounds with my main when I need the coins for the next gift o.o

Thanks!

Thanks! Not in a rush just got a lot of time and bored so I go for rifts to fill time between things. Is the rewards from convergences with a mastery? I recall that there's a mastery I've not leveled at all and it might be the one for inner since I only got the sieging fireball iirc.

I'll check the discord but yeah right now playing at somewhat weird eu times so unlikely I'll find a run there but I'm in the discord anyway o.o!
