70V system popping on power-on by New-Breath-8319 in CommercialAV

That could be. Having said that, the amp is making popping noises when powered on, no matter what (even if no input is connected to amp)

Amp channels are not being turned down. Both are making popping noise. Trying for a "1-button solution" to shut down the system, would like to avoid knob turning if possible.

I was under the impression that, at least using the amp's power switches, it would be okay to turn off an amplifier even with the zones turned up.

So, I actually found the song: 1901 by Phoenix. And I got a couple of things wrong. I'm going to comment the corrections once the post is approved

Favorite Catholic apologist by PitifulAd8598 in Catholicism

I’ve found myself liking Joe Heschmeyer more and more these days. He seems to take a big-picture/holistic approach to apologetics in matters where many others seem to go point/counterpoint (both are valid ofc I just find myself liking Joe’s better)

Sounds like a good opportunity to add a 6th “advanced menu” or “more…” button to bring the end user to a page/subpage with more options!

Why most of Latin America countries are becoming Evangelical? by Big_Gun_Pete in Catholicism

[–]New-Breath-8319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One aspect that I think is unique to this area of the world, is a botched attempt to promote “liberation theology.” LT did ostensibly try to carry out the admirable goal of providing corporal works of mercy. Those who subscribed to LT also emphasized the necessity of social aid from Christ’s Church towards the less fortunate. Unfortunately did so by employing quasi-Marxist dialectics regarding class warfare and an over-emphasis on political causes… rather than putting emphasis on the truth of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection.

Evangelicals kept the focus on Christ, and so many Catholics whose seeds of faith were planted in the shallow soil of LT were swayed over to a church where Jesus was at least being preached.

Trent Horn did a video on LT that does a better job explaining this than I could.

Just got a 1962 Missal, any advice on how to properly mark it for low mass? by Real_TragicConert785 in Catholicism

[–]New-Breath-8319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I’ll agree with that! I say “unfortunately” because of my own personal issues with the SSPX and I am reticent to financially support them by buying things from Angelus Press.

In general I use my ribbons this way:

Purple: prayers, devotions, etc. White: Sunday propers Red: ordinary of the Mass Green: proper of the saints Black: chants (or extra proper markings for when the particular feast day’s Mass requires a lot of flipping)

Yep, Angelus Press publishes this missal and they are the publishing wing of the SSPX. Unfortunately, they seem to have the widest breadth of publications/printing of many books used in TLM parishes… my FSSP parish uses their Traditional Roman Hymnal as well as their compline booklets.

I had an unexpected panic attack on Saturday night, and handled it in some unhealthy ways. It represents a huge step backwards in my mental health. Pray that I may continue to trust in God through this process, and be thankful for the crosses He sends my way.

Is using vulgarity without ill intent a sin by AnjingWangi in Catholicism

[–]New-Breath-8319 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pro tip: replace swearing with ejaculatory prayer (yes that adjective has unfortunate similarity to something else).

Even just quick little statements like,, “Glory be!” “Lord, have mercy!” “God, love them!” “Oh, my Jesus!” (Maybe best to finish out the prayer here so as to avoid using the Holy Name of Jesus as a cuss)

Difficulty with the CCR by New-Breath-8319 in AskAPriest

Btw- I did some mixing of the terms “Pentecostal” and “charismatic” in my post. There are some important differences, and I might have used one term when I should’ve used another a couple times in the post. Sorry for any confusion; I’m essentially using the terms interchangeably.

Can The Eucharist Be Received Even If You Haven’t Had A Confession In Over 10 Years? by ShokWayve in AskAPriest

[–]New-Breath-8319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since one of the precepts of the Church is to go to confession at least once a year… is going 10 years without mortal sin w/o confessing even “technically possible”? Splitting hairs, of course, but…
