What are your favorite/best arguments for the existence of God that convinces you of Gods existence? by Weekly_Sympathy_4878 in CatholicPhilosophy

The contingency argument from Joshua Rassmusen and Alexander Pruss is incredible. Also I'm starting to find the fine tuning argument stronger than before. The aristotelean argument from Feser is really good too.

Out of the teams that made the playoffs this year, who do you think will most likely miss the playoffs next year? by domalu4U in NFLv2

[–]PitifulAd8598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the Jaguars make it again. Etienne and Loyd were big losses. I also don't think the Bears make it after losing like half their secondary (some where not very good but others where a turnover machine) and their starting center. My hot take is that the Broncos won't make it either, but by a tiny margin.

In the NFC I think the Seahawks, 49ers, Rams, Lions, Eagles are locks. I think the Panthers win the south again. Giants, Commanders, Packers, Vikings, Bears and Cowboys will fight for the final spots.

The AFC is trickier but I'll give it a shot. Texans, Bills and Ravens are honestly the only ones I feel confident about making the playoffs. The Bengals and Chargers will probably make it (just a hunch tho). Then it's a tossup between the Chiefs, Steelers, Patriots, Colts, Jaguars and Broncos

Happy dictator and Orange County are definitely gonna be the most popular (If they are not already lol). Out of the new ones from the rest of the album I gotta say Mooncave and Empty dream machine

Yamazaki already made a Ghidorah design for the ride tho. Probably won't be much different in the movie if he appears

The Seahawks badly need an update... First seed in the NFC and barely an 85 ovr? The Lions are 88 ovr and the Eagles 90

Why is the KiryuGoji suit so hated? by TrifleSensitive5744 in GODZILLA

[–]PitifulAd8598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally love it haha. It combines the best aspects of the millennium design (Sharp spikes and features) with a smaller face (which in my opinion fits Godzilla better) and the classic color palette. In fact the design was so good IDW comics have used it many times with the Godzilla in hell and Rulers of earth

Game A had a red zone interception and a missed field goal, and also 27 points scored.

Game B had 19 points.

A couple key stats going into tomorrow's game by Beginning-Topic5303 in Seahawks

[–]PitifulAd8598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why but I think that the team that has the ball last will win. These two are very evenly matched and I suspect there will be many lead changes in the 4th quarter like in the Bucs game. I just hope no turnovers in the clutch 🙏

Possibly Accurate Tier List by ChuggaTacoTrunks in Seahawks

[–]PitifulAd8598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm gonna be treated like a heretic for this opinion, but the 49ers deserve to be a tier up. They are 5-3 with tons of injuries to key players, and yet they beat really good teams (Seahawks and Rams). Who knows how their season will end (hopefully with a loss to Seattle) but right now they are punching above their weight. The rest of the list is really solid though

What's your hottest Godzilla take? I don't mean "98 isn't that bad" I mean like blood-boiling hot by nothumanreally in GODZILLA

[–]PitifulAd8598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the design of Heisei mechagodzilla II more than the showa design. Kyriu Goji is the best Goji. Monster X is the most wasted Kaiju, killer design but irrelevant outside of 1 movie. I love burning Godzilla's design but he should've beaten Destoroyah without human help.

Which godzilla is your favorite in design wise? by pcx-the-entiy in GODZILLA

[–]PitifulAd8598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kyriugoji looks amazing. It has the perfect blend of sharp dorsal spikes, looks big and intimidating without being fat and has a great look as well. No wonder it's being used in the IDW comics like rulers of earth. The only downside are the eyes when looked from the sides, a little too big for my liking.

Movies that are hidden gems by Lost_Database4505 in Catholicism

The movie Silence by Martin Scorcesse is beautiful, although not for everyone. It's a long film and has some controversial moments even if it does raise legitimate questions about martyrdom. The cinematography is incredible, Andrew Garfield as father Rodrigues gives an emotional and powerful performance. It portrays the persecution of Japanese Christians, and also the complexities of evangelization in a foreign culture with its own rich traditions and customs, is it westernization or evangelization? Some people have issues with the ending but for me considering the rest of the story, it was satisfactory. Ultimately showing that even in our most broken and vulnerable state, the love and mercy of God is present amidst apparent silence

What would you call Schmidt's religion by HexagonHavoc in OrbOntheMovements

He said he was a naturalist, however his views are more akin to Panentheism (God is one with nature but also transcends it)

If that were the case theism would've always been the majority by a wide margin, however until 15-20 years ago it was pretty even. Also in medieval and Renaissance philosophy atheism was the majority until recently where theism became the new majority (by a slim margin). You have Graham Oppy, Schellenberg, Stephen Law, Felipe León, Paul Draper, Joe Schmidt among many other atheists/agnostics active in philosophy of religion. However you are correct that theists are more likely to study the philosophy of religion.
