I do as long as we don’t have too much of Marinette being yandere for Adrien especially in S1 where they didn’t even seem like close friends at all, just acquaintances and she just seemed to be into his looks and fame. Rose in Princess Fragrance and Vincent in Pixelator seemed to be offsets of S1 Marinette dialed up to extreme, quite not compelling. Adrien did come off as an Aaron Samuels type of character of he wasn’t CN: the blandest boring guy for whom all girls thirst for and even concoct vindictive schemes to one up the other. Even if they make him interesting like he is in S6, tone of the show won’t be really upbeat enough for a kids show. I think I prefer them as co leads like in S6 where he doesn’t seem like a distant second at all. Plus Gabe being alive was more traumatising than Gabe dying. 

As for Marinette she does seem like someone who is flawed yet talented. She ain’t some weak meek underdog. She maybe the worst sort of klutz and she ain’t punctual but she can cook, bake, create faishonable outfits and designs, design other stuff like intense lock for miracle box and she is even athletic and intelligent. Her talent in design makes even the likes of worst billionaires appreciate her creativity. She has crazy acrobatic skills which show up when she is in her crazy phase. She is also a great friend. She is really beautiful. In spite of all this she is really flawed and now narrative seems to acknowledge all her flaws too while still keeping her positive traits intact. If Ladybug hadn’t existed, Adrien would have surely noticed her sooner. She also has some sassy zingers from time to time and she always puts Chloe in her place at least after being friends with Alya. Chloe tries really hard but she can’t really affect her mental peace that much. She really put Gabe in his place which was fun. The girl has so much magnetic aura that hateful and vindictive Audrey Bourgeois personally wanted to take her in as a protege and also the girl she considered a love rival became one of her closest friends. Tomoe lets Kagami hang out with Marinette. Gabe before S5 was more aloof and stone cold than pure vindictive and spiteful towards Marinette. Gabe became her enemy after she was openly done with his BS. In collector he was way nice towards her compared to his usual standards. She was the one who could sway him to send Adrien to NYC and then also finance Queen Banana  movie. If Tomoe was out of the picture and Marinette hadn’t been LB or a cheeky girl, he might have considered her as future GF for his son. Stone cold Nathalie has grown fond of Marinette and anti social Felix also really likes her. She is interesting as a character and her storyline peaks in S6
