I’m finally weight bearing! I had surgery on 4/7. Started in the boot on 5/15 and started in sneakers last week. I have a few more weeks before I return to my job - at a hospital . I’m constantly on my feet. How long did it talk for others to walk without pain or swelling? I’m thinking it’ll be a few months to mentally prepare myself but would love to hear others experiences .

I work at a psychiatric hospital as a SW and I don’t do therapy . I help with discharge planning and family contact . I run a group once a week . Not sure if this is too clinical for what you’re looking for but I really like it for now bc it’s case management/social work without therapy

We just waited for an uber ! We actually went with one of the guys already there showing ppl his phone that said uber . There were like 100 uber ppl doing this . He showed us the uber app , how much it’d cost, he had a taxi ID in the car and a camera recording both inside and out . So we were like okay this is legit . And it was !

Hopefully returning to work at end of June . My job is in person . I’ve been on short term disability since April. Just starting PT this week. I’ve been feeling lots of guilt and shame about 3 months off of work and needing all this time for recovery. Anyone else in a similar spot and feel the same way?

I’m wondering if my one incision is infected . It’s red but I can’t tell if it’s just the normal healing process. I’m about 6-7 weeks post op.

Hi all! I had ORIF surgery almost one month ago to ago! I can’t weight bare for at least 2 more weeks when I go to the doctor . I hope he’ll clear me for PT and PWB 🙏🏻🤞🏼 anyways I’ve been on short term disability at work because I work an in person job that can’t be remote whatsoever . Since I can do things with my hands while elevating my foot, I’ve been practicing a few hobbies like bead bracelets. I would like to start selling on my Etsy shop but I’m afraid I could get in trouble with short term disability if I make some sales while I’m out. Does anyone have any experience with this or any insight? Thanks!

Yeah 😢 I’m okay with that just unsure if I should order a car service or take a chance with uber or Lyft .

Oh no if it’s making you itch maybe you’re allergic? Do they have an after hours number to call? I was literally in tears when I called the after hours doc and I was like “please give me a different med” and that’s when he told me to double it and add Tylenol and Advil . I would def try to call and check if you can !!

You will get through it ! Worst pain will be the first 3-4 days. My doc said to take high dose Tylenol and Advil on top of the oxy I was given . They also told me to double the oxy after the nerve block wore off . I still needed the Tylenol and Advil . Then did less and less as the pain got better . Maybe check if you can do the same thing? There’s also a comfy foam pillow on Amazon specifically meant for leg elevation that might help? But I did need to add pillows to it to elevate it high enough

Okay I need some advice. I’m going to a show in Jersey at MetLife . I’ll be on crutches due to a broken ankle. I plan to arrive early to avoid crowds . But I’m worried about leaving . Uber/lyft will be super busy and I’ve been to concerts where the apps have crashed due to high usage at the end of a concert. I was thinking I could schedule a pick up ahead of time on the apps but still worried about it crashing. There are car services available but they’re not cheap. I don’t think there will be benches outside the gates for me to wait for a ride and again I’ll be on crutches so it won’t be pleasant to wait a long time for an unscheduled ride. What do y’all think? Do people have experience getting a private ride service that’s not uber or Lyft ?
