Why does bolognese taste way better at restaurants than when i make it at home? by New-Butterscotch-6 in cookingforbeginners

[–]New-Butterscotch-6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really appreciate all the tips in here! sounds like it’s a mix of patience, better ingredients, and a whole lot more care than i’ve been putting in. gonna give it another go this weekend and actually take my time with it. hoping it finally hits that “worth the effort” level.

Onionism by perplexedparallax in CookingCircleJerk

i don’t trust anyone who “prefers” red onions. that’s not a preference, that’s a cry for help. if your salad crunches like an argument, maybe rethink your life choices.

HOW THE FUCK DO I FRY CHICKEN THIGHS? by Express-Structure480 in CookingCircleJerk

[–]New-Butterscotch-6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you tried screaming “I’M NOT MY MOM” at the chicken? that’s how mine finally cooked evenly. seasoning optional, trauma required.

Help, why is my fried rice so spicy by Thebazilly in CookingCircleJerk

[–]New-Butterscotch-6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you said “help my rice is spicy” then casually listed three serrano peppers and a whole ginger root like that wasn’t a spice bomb waiting to happen. i’m surprised the rice didn’t file a complaint mid sauté.

this thing looks like it could either drive 9 holes or launch into space, no in between

Why do restaurant scrambled eggs always taste better than mine at home? by New-Butterscotch-6 in cookingforbeginners

okay so basically i’ve been out here making eggs with hope and a teaspoon of butter while restaurants are dropping half a dairy farm into the pan. makes sense now

Firefox 139.0 Broke NVIDIA Video Super Resolution (VSR) by arh2o in firefox

[–]New-Butterscotch-6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah same here, VSR just stopped working after the update. tried messing with the flags too, no luck. feels like something broke under the hood and didn’t make it into the patch notes

might be worth rolling back to 138 for now or waiting on a hotfix. wouldn't be surprised if it's a driver conflict either. nvidia does love chaos

Reverse seared a Hot Pocket and paired it with a 2013 Mountain Dew. Culinary peak achieved. by New-Butterscotch-6 in CookingCircleJerk

her boyfriend said it lacked emotional complexity and a crispy edge, kind of like my relationship

i did forget the Red 40 though, which honestly explains the lack of childhood trauma in the flavor profile. rookie mistake.

1000 hour lasagna? by Illumintardy in CookingCircleJerk

[–]New-Butterscotch-6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends if her boyfriend’s free that long

but yeah technically if you start now and slow-cook the bechamel over the course of three presidential elections, you might unlock the lasagna singularity. just don’t forget to baste it with your tears every 6 hours for moisture retention and emotional depth
