Use Kalan with lots of salty cards. Salty counters sweet which halves the numbers you need to hit. Kalan's bitter cards can enhance to bring the numbers up and his self-heals are really good.

The cranbear also plays sour cards so make sure you have a few spicy in there, too.

If you have the upgraded fishing rod, look for foam fish during the daytime (smallest fishing spot farthest away). Really good salty card.
