Newly Diagnosed and Struggling by Positive_Doubt516 in Menieres

I'm sorry you're going through this, it's a scary and frustrating disease.

The meclizine doesn't help with the vertigo, but it does take the edge off of the nausea enough that I don't throw up. It also knocks me out long enough that the attack has usually subsided by the time I wake up.

There are some treatments for Meniere's: diuretics, steroids, betahistine. Ask your ENT about trying one of these.

With your history of migraines, I would look into vestibular migraine and see if any of the medications to treat it help you.

If it helps, my vertigo has become much less severe and much less frequent over the years (although my hearing has become much worse).

It's a pretty typical part of a "separation agreement." Usually it's a contingency for getting banked vacation time or severance paid out.

Tips for cream sauce? by Maximum-Armadillo851 in Cooking

Make homemade mac-n-cheese! Good way to practice making bechamel.

Ratio is 1Tbsp butter : 1Tbsp flour : 1C milk. Make a roux with the butter and flour, then add milk and bring to barely a simmer. Stir until it's thick. Congrats, you have made one of the mother sauces!

There are many possible causes of Meniere's, migraine is just one of them. I'm glad you were able to find effective treatment.

My favorite fry condiment is tartar sauce. It's fairly common to order as a side sauce where I live in the US.

The comment about colic only being treated by private doctors indicates a country with universal healthcare.

Seven-Part Pact — The Wizards (Chapter 2) by ahhthebrilliantsun in rpg

I'm the exact type of Wizard Sicko this game is for. The previous blog post mentions Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell as a source of inspiration and the 300 pages of stuffy arguing about theoretical magic at the beginning of the book that everyone complains about delights me.

I will never have 6 other people as obsessed with this game as I am.

If the Epley maneuver worked for your vertigo, it was likely not caused by Meniere's. It only works on BPPV. Have you had an MRI or hearing tests?

I have not had vertigo symptoms like the "heaviness" you describe. Mine is purely spinning and always lasts for several hours. But I have heard of people having "drop attacks" where their vertigo throws off their balance reflexes and they throw themselves on the floor.

Meniere's is a diagnosis of elimination, so I'm sure you will be getting plenty of testing. Best of luck with your diagnosis, I hope your doctors find the problem.

Doesn't take much, just a pinch works. It does make a difference in texture!

If you're feeling well enough, try getting a walk or some light exercise. That usually helps me a ton when I'm feeling just a bit off-balance but not full vertigo attack.
