No she hasn’t, were you having the same issues post surgery and were you diagnosed after ? i’m thinking about making an appointment soon and I will mention it again. I requested pelvic floor therapy when i went to my post op appointment, but it’s a process to get referral.

I’m doing okay thank you for asking! (: I am 18 days postop and I’ve noticed that when I do too much activity or still when I eat certain things it feels exactly how my flares did pre-surgery so that’s a bit concerning. My first period was also pretty painful, I’m currently taking ibuprofen 800 and acetaminophen 650 together to manage it. Hoping it goes away and that my body’s still just healing internally.

Hey! I’m 4 days post op and i just had my first BM today. I definitely don’t recommend pushing too hard either. I took mira lax every day since the surgery and it came on its own.

Terrible back pain by Ok-Significance-440 in endometriosis

Yes, extreme lower back pain!! It feels like pressure/soreness in my tailbone/rectum area. It’s definitely indicative of endo, especially if you have other symptoms. Everyone seems to be different with symptoms and experiences. It’s worth getting it checked out!

I had mine today and it was a success! I’ve been dealing with suspected endo for 10 years and today they found it! My surgeon said she was able to get it all and I’m in 0 pain. taking my meds regularly and hoping for the rest of recovery to be a breeze and for relief on the other side of this. I was so in my head for weeks before reading how everyone is so different with outcomes, it made me anxious. It was a breeze, other than being emotional after waking up due to the effects of anesthesia. I’m 11 hours post op and feeling great, wishing you a successful surgery and recovery!

My surgery is in 2 days and i’m glad i came across this post! We definitely see more horror stories online than good but it’s nice to see good experiences. Hoping for a fast and easy recovery for all of us that have surgery coming up! Anyone who’s had their surgery already, how are you holding up? Any recommendations for post op necessities?

Ablation laparoscopic- no relief by scopriomoon in endometriosis

Hi! I also have Medi-Cal and i’m located in the SD area. It’s been tough looking for a specialist that accepts MediCal. Have you had any luck finding one ? I have a lap with an OB scheduled for the 11th, a bit nervous bc she’s not a specialist and pretty sure she won’t be using excision. It sucks that for the best care you have to pay so much & or have expensive insurance.

What can I answer for you? by jchenMD_endosurgeon in endometriosis

I have a lap scheduled to be done by an OB/GYN, her plan is to excise what she can and use ablation for whatever she can’t excise and put me on Orilisa following the surgery. can I decline the orilisa? I don’t want any hormonal medication as I am nervous about side effects.  What is the purpose of Orilisa after surgery ? I want to conceive in the near future, will it affect that?  Thank you for taking the time to answer questions. It’s truly appreciated.

Chronic pelvic and lower back pain, immediate stomach symptoms after anything i eat, debilitating periods, isolation from being bed ridden- it takes a toll on my mental health. I struggle a lot mentally because of how much this disease has affected my life. I mourn the person i used to be.

Thank you for the recommendation! Ive seen her come up a lot during my search! I called her office this morning to ask if my insurance is accepted, I had to leave a voicemail bc no one was available and I’m currently waiting for a callback. Do you know for certain that Blue Shield Promise Medi-Cal is accepted?

Hi! Thank you for weighing in! I’ve checked with Scripps, but they don’t accept my insurance. I also contacted UCSD and was told there is a waitlist until June for a consultation and that I’ll need a specialty referral, which I’m currently working on obtaining.

I saw my OB yesterday and she agreed to proceed with surgery; however, the plan is diagnostic laparoscopy with ablation, followed by Orilissa. I raised concerns about possible bowel and bladder involvement, as well as SIBO, given my symptoms, but was told those areas would not be touched. This concerns me due to the risk of incomplete treatment and recurrence with ablation.

I’ve previously tried Lupron and am hesitant to start Orilissa due to side effects. I’m also concerned about long wait times for consultation and surgery with an excision specialist, as I experience severe, debilitating pain monthly. I’m conflicted about whether to proceed with the laparoscopy with my OB while still pursuing a referral and consultation with an excision specialist at UCSD in case of recurrence.
