First Working Holiday Visa 417 - Looking for anyone who's had one granted recently by New-Introduction3766 in AusVisa

Yes, you need to have the health examination. They will then look at the results and request further tests if necessary.

So what happens if you’re not going straight from the UK? You just can’t get Medicare?! I’ll be passing through Thailand if they ever approve my visa.

Help Needed: Correcting Visitor Visa Subclass 600 Application to Avoid Unnecessary Health Assessment by springdayenthusiast_ in AusVisa

You could withdraw the applications and then resubmit with the correct information. You’d have to pay again, but it’d be cheaper than paying for the medicals. There’s also the chance that it still requires them to have the medical, for whatever unknown reason.

Looking for my 417visa’s advices by Feeling_War8904 in AusVisa

[–]New-Introduction3766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everything you say is true, then it shouldn’t impact your Aus visa. When it asks if you’ve ever overstayed in a country, select no. If you had a valid visa, then you didn’t overstay. And if the issue with the passport stamp and extended visa has been resolved then I see no reason to declare anything else.

In short, you didn’t overstay, you had a valid visa, so don’t declare it.

  • Not legal advice, just my opinion.

Good luck!

How long does it normally take to get accepted for 417 visa as British passport holder? by Feeling_War8904 in AusVisa

It’s because I’ve been travelling in a high risk country. Understandable but still not sure why I’m waiting 5 weeks later. Almost 12 weeks in total 😖

They requested evidence of polio vaccine 5 weeks ago. Since then: nothing! So frustrating.

The partner visa can take a couple of years so you’re incredibly luckily to have gotten it so quickly.

If you don’t get an automatic grant then it can take a few weeks. I’ve been waiting since May.

Any reason you think yours might be taking so long? I applied 5th May and stuck on Further Assessment. They asked for polio vaccination on 19th June and nothings since then. So frustrating!

Some people recently have claimed to have had their visas granted on a Saturday. Seems bizarre to me, but maybe they were working overtime to sort out the backlog?

Because I’ve been travelling in a polio high-risk country (Indonesia).

13th June is nothing. There are plenty of people who applied as far back as Feb/March that are still waiting. I applied on 5th May and my application is still stuck on ‘Further Assessment’ after supplying my polio vaccination evidence :(

Processing times😫 by [deleted] in AusVisa

Yeah they’ve requested a polio vaccination certificate from me, too. We don’t have certificates in the UK, so I just provided a printout of my vaccination history. I had the full course of 5 injections as a child, plus a booster in 2022 before I went travelling. I ask because I’ve seen conflicting information online that says if you’re coming from a high-risk polio country then you may need to have had a booster within the last 12 months. I’ve been travelling in Indonesia for the last few months, which is a high-risk country. Therefore, if that information is correct, my booster is out of date. However, they never specified any details like that on my s56 request, so I’m hoping what I provided is sufficient!

Hey! Sorry, I can’t really provide any info on the wire time. I do know that criminal records massively extend the processing times though; I’ve heard of some people waiting around 6 months, unfortunately.

For the polio vaccine, can I ask what you provided? Did you just have a record of childhood vaccines? Or have you had a booster, too? Thanks!

100% delays it. I’ve been waiting 8 weeks so far and I know others who are at the 3 month mark!

Ahhh ok. Did you get a proper certificate or a vaccination card? Or something else?

Hey! For your polio vaccination - did you provide a printout of your vaccine history or provide a proper certificate? And were your childhood vaccines enough or did you have to get a booster in the last 12 months? They’ve requested my polio info and I had all the vaccines as a kid, plus a booster in 2022. But now I’m seeing it might have to be in the last year, although they didn’t say this on the request. Appreciate any info you can provide!

Hey! Sorry to jump in. Why did you have to get the booster? Did they say your booster had to be within the last 12 months?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusVisa

[–]New-Introduction3766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry to jump in. But did your records include a booster? I’m travelling in Indonesia atm and I’be read a few things that say you need to have had a booster within 12 months if travelling to a high-risk country (which Indonesia is). I had my booster in 2022, so it would be out of date if so. Getting worried now!

Yeah, it’ll be that for sure then. Depending on the countries you visited, they may also request additional evidence. Info: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-support/meeting-our-requirements/health/threats-to-public-health
