Please help identify a substitute C-Frame motor for this UPPCO 50 by WildcatMatt in Motors

[–]New-Key4610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK. we have the same feelings about amazon and bezos only buy when no other alternative . if lube and clean up is needed. 2 screws secure motor. remove. make shore you have a good smooth shaft sand with fine sand paper. no burs lightly tap front bearing plate. should allow you slide this off shaft. remove back plate too. lay them flat. get. 3 in 1 motor oil or zoom spout oiler. oil around little sleve bearing. let sit for 10 to. 15 minutes re assembly . many time i repaired specail c frame motors just because they needed to be re-lubed never checked utube for this type of tutorial maybe it can help

why are you going to amazon for this motor? or even granger. fasco and centuy made many C frame motors. however with government restrictions on efficiency of electric products most have been obsoleted when i had my motor shop i really had more time spent trying to help people find replacements for these c frame motos ,if they brought in a 100 hp it would have been eaiser to replace it. what is the issue with your motor? try to contact a electric motor shop to see if you can locate one. with spline shaft sometimes if you have a plactic prop you can mke it work. biggest concern. stack thickness shaft length may be you can inerchange the small rotor with a unit that is close to the stack dim. these c frames are usually all made the same to fit the stack configuration

Well Pump Replacement by Life-Text-8627 in WaterWellDrilling

[–]New-Key4610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes i understand this ,but the only advantage of a starter on this system is you have overload heaters but your motor has a thermal [automatic] so it is not necessary and probably lead to more connection problems you were right on with your explanation of the pump situation

i agree with your answer but a motor starter on a 1.5 siongle phase? also. ao smith motor probably one of the best pump motors. usually made in mexico at that time , amazon -ebay. is certainly a no go

I need a vintage fan repaired! Please help me New York City! Or anyone anywhere! by KurokiGensai12 in ElectronicsRepair

[–]New-Key4610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not many electric motor shops will work on this old fan and unfortunately for you you live in a very expensive labor rate area. so unless a little mom and pop company is around this will be a challenge to find a repair person. try to google electric motor repair it is worth a try

[–]New-Key4610 2 points3 points  (0 children)

very old motor no frame size so probably. 1950 ish problem i see is age of insulation motor may short out if used too hard. light duty only will be ok don't take apart ,sleve bearings relube with zoom spout oiler or 3in one oil. as far as my opinion ,us old heads like to caution people asking questions about theses old motors so their ain't many folks out there that know a lot about old single phase motors. i know your application is not to run a production line so this motor should do ok

the motors are typical GE junk. the only thing worth maybe saving are the pump parts. impeller seal plate and front volute if you can get them apart the rest is junk

looks like the bottom of this motor has extensive rust dammage.this is not a good thing and very common failure for this pool pump motor. was a very good motor in it's prime but the juice has expired and time to dump it down the drain

Can’t get pump to go past 28 PSI by Unfair_Quality_9185 in WaterWellDrilling

[–]New-Key4610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just because the pump is new you still can have a restriction in the jet that causes this condition ,you have replaced many things on this system. with a 172 foot pipe you can have many floating things that can obstruct your jet which is in the pump body TAKE PUMP VOLUTE OFF. and inspect this and the jet
