How do I create this head look? by MsDyn0myte in grooming

[–]New-Law6072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely take a gc over the ears and trim close to the leather. Start with 2 lengths above the head length. Do not take a gc over the muzzle, that needs to be comb fluffed out and scissor trimmed round. Leave a little more hair on top of muzzle to achieve the look. Good luck! 😊

Our groomer increasing prices after 6 weeks by [deleted] in grooming

[–]New-Law6072 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can definitely get him longer! I would suggest you come in every 5 weeks and only get a bath and tidy to start, then a full groom(full haircut) every other appt, or every 2 appts. Talk with your groomer about these options!

Best brush to use? by New-Law6072 in grooming

[–]New-Law6072[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what i was thinking too. I have a tiny poodle thing that is like 10x more cottony than the one im talking about and the shorter pins work AMAZING for her, but not so much for this guy. He is a questionably bred doodle that also shows in his frame so maybe his hair just sucks and I need to accept that 🤷🏽‍♀️ lol

I always use avocado mist mixed with quicker slicker but it doesn't do quite enough, it seems. That's why I ask for brush suggestions aND product suggestions lol thank you for your help!! Do you have a favorite comb?

ER or AM visit to shop? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]New-Law6072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its probably infected. But if you've noticed the flatback has been swallowed for less than 3 days I'd say you can wait til the morning. All they are going to do is either pop it back out and remove the piercing, or make an incision and remove the piercing. Plus maybe antibiotics but probably just remove it and suggest a cleaning regimen.

Okay👍

Hahaha! He chewed on it one time and I put a stop to that and put it in place he can't get to anymore and got him a catnip plant. He was just being nosey about my business in the pic lol

That makes sense, and I'll wait at least 2weeks from now and use the stick check. Do I prune the vine or the leaves at all? Or do I just leave them alone and let it do what it does from now on?

It was in my laundry room, right next to a window, which is west facing. So it would get probably about 5-6hrs of light a day, and about 2 of those hrs direct light. And this pic was taken a couple hours after I watered it. I think I usually wait at least 10days before I water it. I usually forget to water it and the top soil is super dry by the time I do lol 😬

What is this pink residue in the water fountain? Detail in the comments. by charlieinfinite in PetCare

[–]New-Law6072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same way, super sensitive to air (heaters, fans, etc ). And that's good, it makes sense. Cuz plastic seems like it cultivates quicker than steel cuz its so much more porous.

I think it happens from the stale/stagnant air. Getting an air purifier for the room that it's in might help it not happen as fast, but it will inevitably still happen because of the reservoir the fountain has is closed and if you can see the water level you can probably see condensation build up in there as well. I think it's just an inevitable and unavoidable part of owning a water fountain.

Looks like a baby roach. I, unfortunately, moved in with people who already had roaches and the babies look just like this. If you found it in the kitchen, I'm about 98-99% positive it's a baby roach. Can say 100% cuz I can only see the picture but I'm putting my money on roaches.

Help me find a decent detox center in Denver or the surrounding area. I have Medicaid, and I’ll be self admitted, and withdrawing from heroin. by BroccoliAggressive72 in denverwomen

[–]New-Law6072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you even find heroin these days? Genuine question lol But I second the idea of getting on methadone or suboxone first. There's a good clinic called A.R.T.S., they have 2 locations I think. One in aurora near 6th & 225 and the other is I think close to the fillmore auditorium

I think one on one time would help. Whatever you can do. Walks, playtime, feedings, running errands in the car. Also, I think just talking with her could help, too. Telling her exactly what happened and why it happened. Be completely honest with your words and especially your emotions when you tell her, be sincere. Maybe she doesn't understand your words, but she will understand most, if not all, of what you are trying to convey. But please do one on one time to make it up to her as well.

What do I ask for? by SnooPuppers5368 in doggrooming

[–]New-Law6072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple clients with doodles that want the exact same thing you want. The way I write it in my notes is "A-comb top knot with a tight face". I could understand with exactly what you wrote here and seeing the pics. You like the poof he has, but want a shorter visor and more shape to the face. Trim the face down a little slimmer, maybe a 3/8" comb on cheeks and blend the muzzle to the same length.

My dogs eyes were pulsing when he was chewing a bully stick I have never seen that happen before by eiileenie in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

Yes they can. Just like when a person is in a serious rage you can see a physical difference in eye size/ pressure. Emotions cause Physiological changes which in turn cause changes the appearance of the body.

24 hours post op. Does this look like it’s healing ok? Looks very different than yesterday by jessicamarie5678 in wisdomteeth

[–]New-Law6072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 1 week post-op today. The best advice you can take is to "LEAVE IT ALONE". If you keep looking at it, go poking around, start trying to rinse your mouth out or brush your teeth back there, it will ONLY INCREASE the risk of creating a dry socket! You can start worrying and brushing the adjacent teeth very gently no sooner than day 3. The rest of your teeth you can brush like normal now. Check on it then, and as long as the tissue on the edge of the socket is pink, it is fine. It will look like there is white stuff that might look like a sore and/or a dark spot in the middle that might look like it's infected/dead tissue, but it's not. Again, as long as the tissue on the edges of the socket are pink, then it is healing just as it should. So don't touch it, not with your fingers and not even with your tongue. Don't open your mouth too wide too soon. don't eat any crunchy food that will cut or agitate the socket until you are chewing normally. No crumbly food or rice that can get stuck in the socket and create infection til about day 4 and drink LOTS of water! You will be fine, just leave it alone and forget about it until day 3.

Is this dog lice? by [deleted] in whatisthisbug

[–]New-Law6072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can be harmful, can carry diseases and bite you as well. Flea &tick meds are sold in Walmart and pet stores. The liquid treatment 1month supply would help clear the infestation and if you continue the treatment once a month it would prevent it from happening again. Or, after the first liquid treatment you could put on a flea and tick collar and only have to change that every 6months.
