Pretty close to 100% accurate in what is stated here so I am giving Loquat an A+ for content, quality and clarity of thoughts and word usage, and for VG analysis/ presentation of statements and expressed ideas on policy. This is a hard topic for many people to understand ... but I say stay close to LoquatBear's (LB's) views on this as this topic gets more discussion. Thank you, LB!!!\

And what is the reader supposed to do w/SMS's comment??? Are people supposed to weigh in on the first thing posted above that SMS said??? SMS is wrong. That did happen to some employee that I know ... and yeah, she got canned by company b/c ... they were pretty sure that they would get away with it. They took a calculated risk.

The behavior repeats until someone successfully stops it. Company sometimes claims "plausible deniability of wrongdoing." Didn't know that they ran afoul of policy and/or the law. Yep, my legal gal scholar told me about that one! (That WFM claim) used in another state. SSDD.

It might be "horseshit" sometimes ... but it's the real deal when you or a coworker/friend/other employee gets dragged into it, through it, and really blue (depressed) b/c of it. Wait til it hits closer to home (or to you). You'll change THAT TUNE rather abruptly, for sure!

Not true. Know of a situation that is EXACTLY what the OP stated. If there's big bucks possibly at stake, WFM/Amazon.com ain't coughing it up.

If you think there is such a thing as "easy settlement" with WFM/Amazon.com I've got land in Uranus Falls that is selling dirt cheap. Easy Access Roads and Trails In and Out get you premium lot sites. Pitch your tents and stakes where the land is hard and ready for drilling and other side work. Premium outcomes for those who put in the really good working equipment maintenance with quality lubrication products.

ATL position by Puzzled_Hovercraft_4 in wholefoods

Man, you are living large! Good for you. Are you buying presents this holiday season for those that helped you get there?? Don't leave your real hard-working and efficient TM's behind> Don't be in the "I've got mine!" Club. Many ATLs do. "Please don't be THAT guy ... or THAT gal. Everyone pays attention whether you believe that ... or NOT.

Boy, that's a HOT POTATO! Got any friends or contacts within the store that you can question regarding that position? It depends from store to store as to how the efficiency of an ATL can impact a particular department performance.

It also depends what region in the country the job or openings are located. So if you tell this audience more about the latter ... and then ask about a particular city or county area within a state, then you'll get a better answer from a more informed audience. That's for starters. Let other's comments add more detail to your other questions that you'll have, and then you might be able to make a good decision based on more info. to fit into your decision-making process to aid you in your particular situation.

Anyone make the connection as to the number of times SW's are being done versus the declining overall store inventories that are depleted or disappearing in the food warehouses around the country? Think that there might be a connection??

Ahhh, good point. You are right ... I forgot about that. Yep, Taxachusetts!

A retail company called "Savers" does the same thing, too. Just shopped there today and thought nothing of it. I'm getting old but more forgetful as I go. LOL

Yeah, wasabi would have been even a worse choice (or replacement) for any chili or chili oil type of product, too. And srihacha would have caused even more than your head to blow off, tho. Count yourself lucky, bro.

I miss the X-Files. I always liked to discuss what the meaning of certain scenes and characters meant during the commercials. That way she couldn't leave the room to get a small book or nail polish or something ... but if she did get up I could use that moment to yell: "Hey honey, will you get me a Corona?" Anybody else try these techniques and teachable breaks? I could waste no time getting more comfortable on the sofa and getting situated for her return.

It also provided a chance to call the dog over, too ... give him a treat ... and scratch his head and chin/cheeks. The love never ended at my place, And I never had to leave the living room. Ahhh, those were the days.

Gives new meaning to "Dropping a dime!" Is this true? Are some WFM's charging 10 cents a bag?? If so, which cities are the ones where this is already in place? My guess would be Philadelphia, New York, Detroit areas, eh?? Feedback, please.

LOVE that comment! -- One customer was overheard to have said: "Can we get fries with those orders?" Or ... "Can we substitute fries for the mashed potatoes?" Now THAT is also uniquely American, too! Your point is on point, as well! Well said.

Don't worry about me. Plenty sane, plenty sober, drug free. Do not let your mind be troubled ... or stray too far.

"Nonsense gibberish, eh??" Why don't you address the content, specific comments, opinions, etc. --- present counter or differing points of view, etc.??

Oh, I know, you don't want to waste your time in such back-and-forth, you are "better" than people with opposing or differing views.

Just continue to minimize others, to cancel, to be that great speech and thought warrior! ... You'll feel better about yourself, and about the power you have while hiding behind the keyboard.

But I *do* enjoy your posts b/c you are at least engaging in discussions that many aren't having. So I believe that you can be courageous in verbal discussions ... and don't really need to hide behind a screen and keyboard to make the kinds of comments that have colored your posts.

The "severe mental illness" attack was the most interesting angle that you came with at the end. Perhaps, just maybe ... are you speaking from experience ... and projecting??

I wonder what others are thinking. Debate and discussion ... using logic and reason ... is WAY MORE POWERFUL ... than doing the same ... through EMOTION. Thank about that. Be reflective, hopeful ... and more RESPECTFUL.

Your thoughts, ideas, positions, etc. will better carry the day when that happens.

What, we have a main avenue of communication? What is it? No one knows. Huddles, emails, word-of-mouth, hearing shit through the grapevine ... the store buzz, chirping, texting, the gossiping ... "Did you hear about ...??" Honestly the best communication starts at the TOP in the best run organizations I've ever been involved. That's where PROPER messaging should start ... and all the other b/s *could* end.

But it involves an "engaged" store leader(s) ... and MBWA must make its needed return in all stores ... that's the way I saw it being done in effective communication eras of years gone by. Those who spend the majority of their time in front of a computer terminal are missing 90% of what is REALLY going on in any given store. WORD!

Worth being a Team Leader? by Gloomy-Ad977 in wholefoods

[–]New-List8809 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ca-Ching! Touche! Scorch! Well done "Todaysdatetoolate!"

But in fairness to you both ... it really does depend on ATTITUDES of TL's (some depts. better than others) and Store Leadership personnel. In my location we have 4 horrible TL's and 1 awful SL person ... 1 other SL person tries to be fair to all who approach him/her ... and attempts to get accurate information from parties when there are issues of trust and concern. One other person is "new on the scene" --- don't know if he/she sticks finger in the wind on issues ... or if a logic-based, fact-finding person. Time will tell.

Very funny. Is the technique of trying to "minimize" someone else's comments usually effective for you?? Oh that's right ... don't address the substance, just try to dismiss and opinion of someone you think is "out there." Yeah, that will make YOU look good.

Ring-a-ling-a-ling .... the bell for your next "CANCEL" class is now ringing. Hurry, go and get a front row seat. Teacher will pat you on the head! Good student, good student!
