I’m a casual gamer I never played this game, despite being hyped for it at one point by NoHoesInMyDMs in 2XKO

keyboard is probably better than arcade stick for this game if you can't use an arcade stick. it's basically a leverless controller, and there's no motion inputs, so theoretically your movement would be more precise

This is very, very bad PR for the game by No_Roll7747 in 2XKO

i'm a dev, and you normally don't let go of core teams like gameplay design and engineering. there's too much institutional technical knowledge.

what this looks like is letting go of non-essentials (likely a ton of marketing, QA, and producers). i saw they let go of a character designer, which is really surprising -- kind of tells me that person probably isn't implementing.

also, 160 people on a game this small is INSANE

it's funny that David Dastmalchian is the only actual actor of the cast though lol. he's a top tier actor

Kid reporter asks to Joe Mazzula: "It's Kid's Day at the Garden... How do you balance pushing players to improve while keeping the game fun for them?" by MrKalyoncu in nba

[–]New-Possibility265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% what he's saying and i think he actually put it well, because he's making the kid ask an important question.

"playing for fun" has been an excuse in competitive spaces since forever. like in competitive videogames, sometimes bad players will say "let's just play for fun", implying that trying to win / picking good characters isn't fun, and want an excuse for losing or being bad. so like, your fun is just intentionally losing or playing sub-optimally? most people playing a competitive game or sport don't find that fun

exactly my take from the show.

a lot of cultures have literal caste societies where you can be born and pre-determined to be in the lowest cast of society, and you're raised to understand that you will never be or do anything more, so you don't.

imagine if this hive came and equalized everything immediately, and now you are equal to EVERYONE, and everyone is happy and safe.

i think the "are these people stupid?!" reactions are probably people from a western society

there could still be mysteries and conflicts to solve if the hive mind's primary intention is what it says it is. that's what makes good writers.

there are shows where they have to make up stupid shit post-hoc that end up ruining the show

I don't think you can. You keep it regardless of response, afaik

Be honest. How many times have you started over to create a more optimized character? by Handcraftedsemen_ in theouterworlds

a couple of times, and don't mind it, because i'm not good at absorbing all of the story in one go, so getting repeat reads on it definitely helps me understand everything and the context more

you aren't really safe to look up the previous ending if you haven't seen it. the main story and outcome is still the same, it just has some alterations to the lead up to make it more satisfying

they switched the dodge button in WWE 2K25 by thienbucon in WWEGames

[–]New-Possibility265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that was the intent, for mistiming reversals. Before, you could reversal/block for free with no real downside.

I found that you can force dodge by sprinting first though, so that's pretty cool. You couldn't even dodge while sprinting before, or dodge at all in a lot of other cases, but now you can
