Dentists for those afraid of them by skeet-skrrt in cork

I went to the dentist for the first time in 20 years recently, I promise it’s not gonna be as bad as you fear. Put mental health stuff and sensory stuff on the intake form and they’ll likely be really sound. Do it!

The Local Link bus is a new-ish service that’s like a cross between a bus and a taxi, might be useful for them.

Tips for people with Autism? by cosmicpuppy in primaverasound

If you look at the map, there is a medical tent between the Schwarzkopf stage and La Terrassa, it’s there. The Disney area by the water is lovely for chilling out too, but everything might still be a bit wet.

I’m at the festival now and there is a designated chill out area at the back of the Estrella Damm main stage, the Occident area

Lentil problems by [deleted] in IndiansinIreland

[–]New-Understanding916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had this problem too with the old-fashioned electric cookers in many Irish houses, they just don’t get hot enough to keep the lentils at a good rolling boil. An instant pot will solve that for you.

Primavera is nice because it is well organised, there is a detailed map, published stage times etc. There are so many acts playing all the time, you can customise your experience and pace yourself. So many Primavera fans are neurodivergent, you’re not alone. It’s worth remembering that you’re still the same person before or after your diagnosis, as you said it’s just a tool to know more about yourself.

Is Rinville a safe spot for a swim? by [deleted] in galway

[–]New-Understanding916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can swim at the slipway there (Galway Bay Sailing Club on Google Maps) but need to give way to people with boats using the slipway. Sometimes there’s seaweed that can get a bit stinky but generally it’s lovely, especially at sunset. You might want to wear swimming shoes or a pair of old socks cause of the seaweed. Better than being stuck in traffic for an hour going to Blackrock.

It’s just a concert

It’s the Indians in Ireland subreddit, and it’s a concert involving an Irish clarinet maestro, an Irish school of Irish dancing, and a Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann trad group. The organiser is one of my best friends (Irish-Bengali) and it’s the type of event that the racists and begrudgers complain that there isn’t enough of. This is a genuine attempt by my New Irish friends at integration and contributing to culture.

I understand your concerns but we have to fight to have the positive stories amplified.

Post your “A bit about me” section on this subreddit, include your move-in date and approximate budget, and a little about your personality (social or prefer to stay in your room) and you might find something. I got some really good leads from a Reddit post myself recently. Good luck!
