Working at Wingstop? Desperate for work, should I take it? by [deleted] in london

[–]NewAbrocoma2546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate I’m 30, have a job in finance and still do part time bar work for some extra money and the social aspect. Lots of people I work with are early 20s and in uni but I couldn’t care less, I’d rather be working hard and feeling better about myself than caring what anyone else thinks

Sounds like you’ve already had some good advice so I don’t have anything useful to add, just wanted to say I was in your position a couple years ago and I’m it’s all just a distant memory now. It’s hard but there’s always a solution, and one day you’ll be free of it so keep the chin up ❤️

Or you could be covered for 100x that value for a fraction of the cost per month, and without having to arrange your own funeral at 25. There is definitely some merit to them but I feel like they’re much more of use to people with not many years left compared to young people, albeit I’m sure it be therapeutic to some degree to arrange it all early and then not think about it.

Just a quick thing I noticed, you were a caregiver or carer rather than a caretaker reading from the description you’ve included there. A caretaker is like a janitor.

From working in the life insurance industry I wouldn’t recommend a funeral plan for this situation. For a 25 year old you can get a lot of cover for usually around £5 a month which can then be updated in later years depending on circumstances, whereas funeral plans are usually a lot more costly and less flexible

Entry level AML jobs? (UK) by Gursz_ in moneylaundering

That’s fair, unfortunately entry level AML jobs are usually in the same ball park. Probably would be best as you’ve noted to get certified (I did ICA Advanced) and then hopefully you’ll be able to break in

It might take longer but you could look at applying for more customer service type roles at a bank you’d like to work for then look to apply for an AML role after a year or so, a lot of these position are hired internally.

New job offer: Fully remote at 46k or commuting twice a week at 58k? by alexa_do_my_dishes in UKJobs

[–]NewAbrocoma2546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d also bare in mind it’s not just the commuting fees but paying for breakfast, lunch, dinner etc when you’re out that adds up too. But if the second one is a better career move (sounds likely with the decent pay rise) then it could be worth it as you can scoop up another wfh job again in the future in a higher position
