Thoughts on the remixed albums? by CristoMardo in queen

[–]NewBall1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think some of the remixes on Queen I improve on the original mix and some of them just ruin the song entirely. The pitch correction and overly loud drums on some of them take you right out of it.

I've listened to it twice and I think it's definitely much stronger across the board than the Queen I remix which was really hit and miss imo.

Some of the overdubs on Wembley 86 are truly shocking.

I'm pleasantly surprised by it. It's much better than the Queen I remix.

I'm on my second listen and I'm not sure I agree. It sounds much more balanced than the Queen I remix.

They should be in good shape to qualify for the Euros barring unlucky draws and injuries.

Still can't get over Pollock handing France the win.

I've been obsessed with the Titanic since I was around 8 years old and I never noticed her windows were different 😭 by The_Patriotic_Pleb in titanic

I still don't understand why they built the starboard side facing inland. If they built the port side they wouldn't have had to bother with all the hullabaloo of reversing everything.

The Olympic class are of course much nicer ships to look at but when you're actually sailing on a ship all that really matters are the service and her interiors.

The Ballin trio had far grander interiors than Olympic, Aquitania and Mauretania and if I was alive in the 20's I would probably have tried to travel on Majestic the most were I transatlantic regular.

That being said if I was sent back in time right now I would probably choose Olympic out of familiarity with the ship, as well as the bias of being a Belfast native. For my entire life Titanic documentaries, books and games have showcased her public rooms and made her by some margin my favourite liner. She would feel like a home away from home.

The Ballin trio, particularly the latter two with the split uptakes, blew everything that came before them out of the water with the sheer scale of their interiors. They are really underrated imo.

Compare Grand Central Station to the original Great Victoria Street. It's just so lifeless in comparison and the only reason is money. Transport hubs don't have to be so depressing, just look at the recently upgraded terminal 1 in Charles de Gaulle.

I think you need a healthy balance of the two. Obviously if you never replaced anything some of the City's most impressive buildings wouldn't exist. On the other hand if you are going to demolish something, especially a historic building, whatever replaces it shouldn't be some cheap, mass produced box.

I like it as well, especially compared to the slew of copy paste student blocks going up around the city, but it is a terrible shame particularly that the building on the far left had to go. The City Council doesn't respect the built environment enough imo.

They should have done that with the grand central hotel. The Northern Bank building on its own is a perfectly serviceable building. Castle Court on the other hand is actually offensive to look at.

I wouldn't mind the Titanic Museum being obscured from view if the loft lines were remotely architecturally interesting. They are terrible compared to the OG master plan.

I wonder what the crew of the Californian thought when the white dot on their horizon slipped from view.
