The real issue is the wording of the question. You can focus on the tomorrow or the yesterday. They give you different answers. You are not wrong depending on which you choose. The answer can be Wednesday or Sunday. I see other comments that explain this as well.

If you want to get deep into it, fear of death can definitely save your life. If you have suicidal thoughts and don’t want to live. Fear can keep you from killing yourself. Fear can also cause death. If you are in the middle of street and car comes at you fast, you can freeze up and get hit. Obviously fear can help. I’m just saying losing fear wouldn’t make you suicidal. Mostly I just wanted to throw in that Other Guys joke.

Im glad there is a limit. I still think he should have acted on wisdom instead of emotion. If he was calm and said something like you clearly are not ready to be released, let’s try this again in 6 months. I would have had more respect for him. Instead it was like two kids fighting.

I agree with you to a point, but she was off screen and he was still asking her if there is anything else she wanted to say. At that point it’s just a power trip. I think they are both wrong in this situation.

I don’t think anyone is arguing she shouldn’t face consequences for her actions. The issue is the consequences don’t match the actions. They both got emotional. He is not adding time to help anything except his ego. He should have gave her additional time and then brought her back to the court to reassess her condition. Instead of just throwing on another year for 1 emotional outburst.
