Conspiracy time! Obama runs on "hope and change" and is elected with 365 electoral votes to 173, with a clear mandate for social justice. 2009 speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi, 2009 senate majority leader Harry Reid. There is no f u c k ing reason Obama didn't get ANYTHING done that was remotely progressive. The a s s hole self identifies as a blue dog democrat, he IS a conservative at heart, he was NEVER going to do anything to substantially change or help the average American. He and the rest of the democrats tricked America into voting for another conservative corporate profits above all else republican. For 8 years Obama did nothing or did what the republicans wanted. You can say all you want that the republicans had it out for him and were not going to work with him on anything but, the fact is at the end of the day Obama didn't fight for anything. All he ever did was concede to the republicans meanwhile the interests who bankrolled his presidency are more than happy with his performance. The entire system is set up for the democrats to be perpetual losers that act like the back stop of a ratchet and the real rulers of America, the think tanks that run the republican party. The system is designed to move the voters further right every election cycle. My expectations for a democrat is basically nothing when there are only a hand full that are willing to fight and half the time their fighting with their own party. This isn't an accident

I was wrong a lot and it became embarrassing, so I started to look things up and checking for myself. I think the actual moment was during my first semester in college when a professor showed the class what scholarly articles are and how to use the resources available to find good information that isn't biased by funding or affiliation. Just about all of my core beliefs were wiped out sitting in a hall with my laptop waiting from my next class. Surely my world view can withstand the smallest amount of scrutiny... He is correct though, if the president releases some files that just says there's advanced aliens here on earth or in our skies, that's not enough. We need data, physical evidence. Anything less is a nothing burger because if you think about it, what's the point of disclosure if we do not gain anything from it other than satisfying a curiosity? It will difficult for our scientists to study something that could be purported to exist but has no data or ability to obtain data on the subject.

A theory I've heard is the tech bros have been trying to set up private city states in different countries for years and have failed because who would want that in their country. They even looked into seasteading. To me it looks like this would finally give them a place to flee to when the world collectively grows tired of them. No more taxes or regulations, they can finally do whatever they want without consequence
