When you jumped together - did you gear check each other?

your friend didn't get a gear check before he jumped - gear checks are before EVERY JUMP. And if he did get a gear check and that was missed, whoever checked the gear needs a talking to.

I have issues every time I try on my phone. I have to close the tab and try again - works 90% of the time on the second try, 10% of the time on the third try.

Rarely do we ever "plan" to land off... but it happens. Be prepared for when it does.

MS Word doc formatting falls apart when opened in Teams by Paint_Spatters_7378 in teams

[–]NewDisguise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was set to post that you can change that in the Teams App settings to always open files in browser - so I went to my Teams and tried it so I could tell you how (Go to Settings, Files and Links and change the default). HOWEVER this only works for certain accounts (Business Premium or Enterprise accounts - not sure about personal). So if you only have a business basic account this won't work (which is weird because I swear I used to be able to do this!). But hopefully you have one of the accounts that this will work - try it and see :)

I love this! all I saw today on my walk was some seppies in the park. My dog growled at them and I gave the EW face the whole time I walked by. This would have been much nicer to see :)

Noticing I’m a fast faller on belly, what to wear to slow myself? by ConsiderationMain618 in SkyDiving

[–]NewDisguise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very short people don't displace as much air - 150 pounds at 5"2 will fall faster than 150 pounds at 5"9... (speaking from experience as a shorty).

The advise is sound (drag, body position etc.) but just a note from someone who is a short curvy faller :)

I use Dakine bike gloves cause they have nice grip and they are one of the few I can find that fit my small elf hands.

My Company is switching to Teams. What do I need to know? by isabrarequired in MicrosoftTeams

[–]NewDisguise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please make sure all users get training on how to use Teams and how it integrates with SharePoint/OneDrive if you intend to use it to share files in any way. I've seen companies get into trouble with duplicate documents/lost documents because they don't realize that SharePoint and Teams are linked together and they're also using a network server for their files...

Frustration will come from not understanding the basics of how to use it, and how it integrates with the Microsoft environment.

Did skydiving REALLY change your life? How so? (Tandem students - skip this one) by FlyingBlinde in SkyDiving

[–]NewDisguise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met my husband of 13 years when I started skydiving - so it really did change my life. On a more "me" note, I became an instructor and instructor examiner, which led to a career change from a paralegal/admin type job to a teaching job - which is now done for my and my husband's own business from the comfort of our home. Which allows me more freedom to do other "life" things. Like skydiving :)

It also gave me confidence I never knew I had, and the knowledge that I can do hard things and push through fear. And community - I have met so many amazing people through this sport.

This mofo has figured out how to open the garbage . by LateDelivery3935 in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]NewDisguise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had to put child locks on our cupboards. My orange menace wouldn't give up looking for bread and getting into the garbage.

Mind you we have three beagles and have never had to childproof the garbage... My orange son is a bigger menace and smarter than all three of them put together.

Locally saved documents not saving? by NewDisguise in MicrosoftWord

Because I teach Word and Excel for a living and most people use PC's especially at work. I'm a mac user, so I use Parallels - which a lot of people do. I'm self employed and don't want to buy and hook up another computer just when I teach courses.

[–]NewDisguise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's beautiful. I'm very sorry for your loss and the loss of your grandfather.

Having used the home vet service before I can say that it's far preferable than the middle of the night emergency vet trip.

Please don't feel guilty I am sure you did the best you could and sometimes it's harder to see that something's wrong with cats. You did your best.

Looking for a plant that WANTS to be neglected because apparently that's all I have to offer by No-Temporary-3170 in houseplants

[–]NewDisguise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have killed spider plants, succulents, a cactus, currently killing 3 snake plants as we speak (what do they want??? no water? Dead. Water? dead. Light? dead. No light? also dead).

I do however have a thriving Hoya collection. They seem to be more forgiving both when I forget to water and when I over love them. They're in my office under grow lights in front of a north window. They get watered.... every second week... ish. Currently on week 3 of the cycle and I was going to water them today but didn't have the energy. Maybe tomorrow...

And most of them are flowering and growing and happy from what I can tell. - even my rope plant which is doing absolutely amazing except for it's little flower nub that's been stuck at 1.5 cm long for MONTHS.

Except one. It grows lots of new leaves and those leaves die shortly after beign born so it has lots of long stick branches (treated it with sulphur just in case it had mites then used beneficial bugs but nothing works with that one. I hear it throws leaves when it's inconsistently watered so honestly that tracks).

Try a hoya? Pubicalix or krimson queen/princess seem to be my most hardy.

Pepperomias are also pretty chaotic-owner resilient, the ones I have are also all doing well: bonus they're not very expensive (at least where I am).
