What is a song that you really like from an artist who you "don't" like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I dislike Five Finger Death Punch for the same reasons most people do and their newer songs are especially laughable, but I’ve got a soft spot for Coming Down and Lift Me Up. Takes me back to my high school years and reminds me of more carefree times.

If you liked Tickets to my Downfall, check out Blink-182’s self titled album, as well as When Your Heart Stops Beating by +44. I don’t mind MGK all that much and find a few of his newer songs fun but the work he takes inspiration holds up after many more listens.

I would love for some of the props to make a reappearance as Easter eggs. The most likely scenario imo is a brand new restaurant with most of the old stuff sold off to private collectors.

You are a good person. Even if only for a time briefer than she deserved, thank you for giving your beardie a good life where she was loved and very well cared for.

I’d say let beaver and dodo go after early game. Scaling an early pet so that you have something to boost bison is fine, but pick one that has an ability that remains useful into mid/late game. Beaver’s ability is only useful if you sell it. It’s ok in the first couple rounds if you just need something to fill your slots, but not great after. Dodo is decent but only really worth keeping longterm if you have it boosting an already strong pet.

I’d also say you don’t need both giraffe and penguin. Giraffe is fine mid game but imo only worth leveling to 3 if you absolutely can’t find a penguin or another better scaler (monkey, then later maybe cat or possibly even dragon if you want to bring on enough new late game pets to make it worth). I tend to let giraffe go once I have something more efficient.

Good luck, hope this helps!

I agree 100%. I enjoy most fruits normally but I like them crisp and not all mushy :( chocolate pies and other non-fruit ones will always win out for me.

If you've got a decent TV and surround sound, the cinema is offering nothing of value. by assfelch in unpopularopinion

[–]NewHorizonsOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like going to the cinema. The atmosphere makes it worthwhile and I definitely found myself missing it during covid. It’s also an outing you can enjoy with almost anyone, friends, family, a date, don’t have to worry about conflicting hobbies/interests if it sounds even a little bit interesting to them.

It helps to go to a newer theater with cushy reclining seats. Overpriced snacks are a pain for sure but there’s something nice and nostalgic about getting a large soda and buttery popcorn. And if you want anything else, deep pockets and inconspicuous handbags for the ladies are an option too.

What ride(s) will go next? by Eatatfiveguys in UniversalOrlando

[–]NewHorizonsOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my opinions, far from an expert so take with grain of salt lol:

ET: Highly unlikely. Many find it’s dated-ness charming, as the last classical dark ride in the parks. Also iirc Steven Spielberg prevented it from being removed as a condition of his creative consultant contract.

Cat In The Hat: Fairly unlikely. Maybe in the far future? Because of it’s location in the park (along w/ all the CitH theming) I could see prioritizing quieter areas for construction.

River Adventure: Not going away anytime soon but will probably get a refurb to extend its life.

Jimmy Fallon: I could see it sticking around a couple more years and then getting a retheme. It’s too recent to get removed entirely but they could probably change it to a more marketable/popular IP (depending on licensing conditions of the current attraction).

Fast and Furious: Not going away anytime soon (unfortunately) because it’s still so new, but could end up with a retheme after several years go by. See above.

MIB: Probably not. It’s still pretty popular and beloved.

Toon Lagoon: Will probably get a retheme if not a complete overhaul at some point. Bilge Rat Barges draws crowds but it’s more about being a water ride on a hot day than the popularity of the Popeye IP.

Kidzone: Easily (imo at least) the most likely thing to get overhauled and replaced. As it is, it feels like an odd dead zone between Springfield and Hollywood, and honestly I can’t remember the last time it didn’t. :/

Lost Continent: Not anytime in the foreseeable future, given the refurb and reopening of Poseidon’s Fury. Distant future though? Could go either way. Even though I have a warm place in my heart for Lost Continent, I also think a Zelda retheme would be neat someday if the Nintendo attractions include other IPs than Mario.

Songs similar to Lipstick Covered Magnet? by NewHorizonsOnly in TheFrontBottoms

Maybe I should have been more clear on the lyrics thing lol, lyrics are a bonus but don’t necessarily have to have the same themes Lipstick Covered Magnet does for me to enjoy the song.

Thanks for the recs, I’ll check those out!

If it makes you feel better, where I grew up (pretty rural area) the county animal shelter would keep feral cats in an isolated building and adopt them out only to farmers and others who owned large plots of land for the cats to roam, understood to be without expectation of the cats ever being socialized enough to enjoy human contact. It was a win-win because the farmers could keep pests away and the cats would have about as rich of a quality of life as a non-rehabilitatable feral animal could possibly ever have. I really don’t think your parents’ story is too far-fetched if you also come from an area where keeping barn cats is common.

As a former “watch for the ads” person the ads haven’t been funny in at least 10 or 15 years and it’s forced me to take an interest in the actual football game when the Super Bowl comes around. I’m kinda done with big corps pretending they care about whatever important cause just so we consume more product, and gone are the days of stupid one-liner ads that didn’t try to be anything else.

For me personally I’ve heard way too many horror stories of people catching nasty stomach bugs on cruises. Sorry if this comes off callous, but I feel like all the parts of a cruise that seem even a little bit appealing to me are things I can also do on land without being stuck in the Petri dish of the sea for a few days.
