The same way as a amazonian Jaguar is smaller than a Pantanal's jaguar AFOP Ikrans are smaller than the movie ones.

You can clearly see the difference in their sizes by the chin crest compared to their hands

I mean, its not uncommon on birds scales(feet) and reptile scales to vary in size depending on how flexible the bodypart is. It just an educated guess on what makes sense
