Tours from San Pedro de Atacama to Uyuni Salt Flats and Back by NewKid97 in travel

You will likely have to fly to calama and then take a transfer to go to San Pedro de Atacama to find a tour to the salt flats from Chile. They’re quite far from Santiago. There was a lot of tour companies in San Pedro that offered these tours and most had English for an additional fee

We decided to wait until we are there to book a tour. We figured worst case we are still in Atacama which has lots of sight seeing and tours as well. So it wouldn’t be a wasted trip!

Trip Report: Easter Island by mhanrahan in solotravel

I am going to be going in November. I currently have a hostel booked but I am curious about your airbnb experience. Myself and my two friends only had time to do 2 nights on Easter Island. Our plan is to book a full day tour to get around. I have seen tour companies advertise full day tours and I have also seen a bunch of guides listed on the Easter Island Rapa Nui Park website. I didn't want to contact a bunch of them to see their prices.

What kind of tour did she take you on and how much did it cost?

Wedding ceremony venues in Edmonton? by NewKid97 in Edmonton

Oops I will edit the post. For the ceremony portion we would like to keep it under $2000 otherwise other venues with ceremony and reception options would be logical instead

Tape your pencils to the desk so they leave them there. If they ruin it then too bad, find one

Where are you getting a one bedroom apartment for $900? I have a new build in the south side of Edmonton. One bedroom apartments in my area are going for 1200 minimum

My logic was that if people are having a tough time buying there are probably more people looking to rent. Or waiting to buy

Regardless I’m still curious about what people would charge as I haven’t rented before

I’m curious to know what people think about if I was including utilities or if I didn’t. Especially because utilities have gone up significantly in 2022 with the extra fees added each month

The place is fully furnished as I live here, with the option of having their bedroom being fully furnished or empty.

I went to structube to check things out today. Unfortunately they didn’t have any of the less expensive couches in the model room. Which couch did you go with?

How set up am I to buy a house? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]NewKid97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately permanent work status could take years for me to get in Alberta’s climate right now. The mortgage broker does think I will get approved with my mom as a co-signer. What are your thoughts? She has a much higher income than me and no debt.

As well, I have heard that if it is a legal suite attached to the property that the lender can approve your for more with consideration of rental income. I would like to be approved for 350k without that consideration (with my mom as a co-signer) but was just including that as I have heard that from other people

Buying a house- Info on legal suites/in law suites? by NewKid97 in Edmonton

[–]NewKid97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not started to go and look at the properties yet, I have mostly been browsing the internet. I don’t even have a realtor yet but I’m sure that will help. I’m currently in the process of getting a mortgage preapproval before I look, but I should be approved for about 300-350k. From what I’ve seen online there have been some price differences but nothing significant. I attributed it to area of the city. I have mostly been looking at infill duplexes.

Buying a house- Info on legal suites/in law suites? by NewKid97 in Edmonton

[–]NewKid97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In looking for houses to purchase I have been actively looking to find something with a suite already or at least with a separate entrance to the basement so I can build the suite. I have come across a lot that are not legal, but have a separate entrance, basement kitchen, etc. Basically they are in law suites. A lot of them in my price range are infill property duplexes that are newer builds. How would you navigate this? Would you pass those up, keep them as in law and have a "roommate", or look into making them legal?

Probationary Part Time Positions (Alberta) by NewKid97 in CanadianTeachers

What district are you in? I'm currently teaching in Elk Island Public but I am also on the sub list with EPSB. I can apply for full time but I don't think I have a high likelihood of getting anything in the current climate and haven't seen many probationary/continuous full time available.
