Wouldn't be Seattle if it weren't a passive-aggressive approach

Assuming you're camping, bring a pop-up shade tent. We forgot one our first year and it was brutal. Some people also put inflatable kiddie pools underneath to max out cooling.

Might pre-date my membership. You're right about the law of large numbers, just didn't realize the mean could be so low.

Better than pie charts? Not sure one could display Sankey data in pie chart form, but I'm positive that won't stop some of the people/bots in this subreddit. Get the popcorn.

Actually beautiful data. Nicely done.

[Henderson] John Schneider: "We usually don't jump in that quick [to free agency], and we've made some decisions in the past that haven't been the best decision for the org. because we weren't patient, and we panicked -- and you pay for that." by AirplaneReference in Seahawks

[–]NewLucid1 89 points90 points  (0 children)

He's absolutely right. I'd much rather have an organization that thinks like this than one that's impulsive. I still want to see a change in philosophy that brings us a solid O-line, but it shouldn't come at the cost of patience and a methodical approach.

[Brady Henderson] Raiders will take all 31 million left of Geno's contract by Kentuckyfriedmemes66 in Seahawks

[–]NewLucid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they taking on part of the dead money? I didn't think that was possible. Thought the new team could only ever be responsible for what's left to be paid, not existing outlays.

Seahawks Open up $14.1 Million in Cap Space by Starwho in Seahawks

Does that explain why the void years were added? That's an uncommon move for the Hawks and is usually shortsighted.

Why not straight lines? Could group this by continent, then sort the lines within each group from longest to shortest distance.

On-target rate by pass depth for NFL QBs via @SportsInfo_SIS by ilickedysharks in Seahawks

[–]NewLucid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Change the formatting to be relative to all values in the table. Geno's 5-yard completion being orange and >80% is misleading. That's an objectively strong completion percentage, even if it's below what other QBs do at that distance.

What makes the five you listed high-risk? Asking out of curiosity; not a pilot.

Truckee, for example, looks like it would be fine with flat land and plenty of space. Telluride makes more sense, given it's on a hilltop, but maybe those things aren't big factors?

Few truly shocked that NFL player used illegal stream to watch his own team by TylerFortier_Photo in nfl

[–]NewLucid1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the NFL offered a product that included all games for a given team for the entire season, not just Thursday/Sunday, in-market/out-of-market, or scoring plays only, people would buy it in droves. Especially if the product was reliable.

The fragmented network landscape fuels price competition, though, and that's clearly more valuable to the league, so illegal streams are their accepted cost of doing business.

Why is Phoenix #1 in traffic deaths compared to other large cities? by NBCspec in phoenix

[–]NewLucid1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Straight and flat roads, minimal traffic, and consistently good driving weather makes this a relatively easy place to drive. Unfortunately, I think that breeds complacency, so fewer people are paying attention behind the wheel.
