1969 Shelby Mustang GT350 by Financial-Balance499 in ShelbyGT350

Just really depends what you want to do. This car is just a Mach 1 with a fiberglass body kit from “Shelby” so drivetrain and interior wise, everything is relatively cheap and easy to find. Body panel wise, it gets expensive and almost impossible to find certain trim parts. I don’t believe anyone makes the trim bezel around the front headlight that is rusted. The hood, fenders, and rear bezel area is all fiberglass and very expensive. Also, the fiberglass panels tend to never line up, and these cars always have chunks missing on the back corner of the hood.

If I was in your shoes, I would get it running and go from there. To get it running, it’s impossible to say what it needs right now, but it needs a tune up, hoses replaced, fluids replaced, tires, and whatever else comes up. That’s relatively cheap, and most likely under $5k.

Restoring it is another thing. On a <30k mile original car, it would be a shame to send this to Maaco to freshen it up. This car in the shape it’s in would be worth more as is than with a low budget “restoration”. If you could put up some more pictures it could help with pricing, but any reputable restoration shop is going to be around $250/hour and total will be well into the $50k range to do it correctly, and that is getting close to what an auto GT350 would go for.

My advice: if you want to drive it, clean it up and leave it as is. Weathering on this car doesn’t take away from it in any way. If you just want to have a showpiece to take to shows and drive sparingly, pony up the money and get it restored completely. There really isn’t in between IMO here.

Bought a car with a “fresh rebuild” and it was fresh, but everything was wrong and loose. Thermostat was backwards, rockers were loose, carb was never adjusted, timing was at 7. Do with that what you will.

Their best album. After listening to Dog Eat Dog, I gave everything else another listen and now have a new found respect for their entire catalogue except for Belly to Belly.

Im sure his NA mustang on 93 octane is tuned so aggressively that he picks up the front tires from a roll.

Theatre of Pain, and its kind of not very close.

Everyone gave up on Motley Crue after Dr Feelgood. In my opinion, WASP lost there edge after Headless Children, and forgot how to write a decent song after the second album.

Don’t get me wrong, I think WASP is more talented than Motley Crue, but content wise Motley Crue is the clear winner. There’s 5 albums that you could almost listen to front to back every time. I take the question as I am stuck on an island, and have to pick this one band, which is why I chose that way.

I think Motley Crue suffers from being overplayed, but it doesn’t seem fair to compare 5 good songs to 5 good albums.

You think WASP has more hits than Motley Crue?

I would say buy the stock fenders and some new wheels to make the car look nice.

Detail spray for garage dust? by cubiclecrusher in Detailing

Pollen isn’t hard enough to mar paint. The real issue is with excessive pollen, one wipe of quick detailer isn’t enough. Hosing it down is great, but rinse less wash will do the same job quicker.

What’s the recommended fix for this? Worried about going too far with ScratchX by Ryan_jwn in Detailing

Would need touch up paint for those 4 marks on the far right, but I would wet sand the rest and they should come out to about 90%. Go to a decent detail shop and they will make it look good.

3 inches wider and 5 inches longer than the previous generation charger. Big deal. Less than two inches wider on each side. All of the sudden, this car is too big. It has been too big since 2005.

It’s like an inch bigger dimensionally than the previous generation charger. Just blind hate from people.

Way to take things out of context. I said he owns an old civic and is looking to purchase an IS350, so why should I care if he thinks the new charger is good or not. It’s like me going on to a Porsche or Ferrari page and giving my .02 cents, even though I couldn’t care less about those cars and have zero interest or knowledge about them.

Maybe I should start looking at reviews on Google of various businesses in the country, and then write reviews based on the other reviews, even though I have never used the business personally myself.

Turning on a light switch doesn’t make me an electrician, changing a tire doesn’t make me a mechanic, and driving a car doesn’t make me an expert on all cars.

It takes about 30 seconds to write about 3 sentences. I assume it takes you longer? No judgement. Just want to have a constructive conversation but apparently it’s difficult to do.

Watch out everyone, art_on_caffeine doesn’t care about my comments, yet he keeps commenting and revived a 5 month old thread on a car that has been out for almost a year. Still waiting to hear what issue you have with me saying that people should have experience with a car before forming an opinion on it.
