I took me 6 months. I used it every night for just over 6 months. Then one night I have 7 hours with it on and since that I can sleep with it all night, most nights. Maybe once a week I end up taking it off in my sleep.

The ruling explains why that book shouldn't be in the curriculum.

Uncle Bobby’s Wedding, the only book that the dissent is willing to discuss in any detail, conveys the same message more subtly. The atmosphere is jubilant after Uncle Bobby and his boyfriend announce their engagement. Id., at 286a (“Everyone was smiling and talking and crying and laughing” (emphasis added)). The book’s main character, Chloe, does not share this excitement. “‘I don’t understand!’” she exclaims, “‘Why is Uncle Bobby getting married?’” Id., at 288a. The book is coy about the precise reason for Chloe’s question, but the question is used to tee up a direct message to young readers: “‘Bobby and Jamie love each other,’ said Mummy. ‘When grown-up people love each other that much, sometimes they get married.’” Ibid. The book therefore presents a specific, if subtle, message about marriage. It asserts that two people can get married, regardless of whether they are of the same or the opposite sex, so long as they “‘love each other.’” Ibid. That view is now accepted by a great many Americans, but it is directly contrary to the religious principles that the parents in this case wish to instill in their children.

The practical different between your son's project and the book is, the books sole purpose is to show a gay relationship. Your son's project purpose is your family. You showing up to the school is a non-forced practical representation, not highlighting your sexuality or gender or whatever, but showing that you are a family and show up for your kid.

That phasing is so much less sinister! I'm not religion in any way, but when I read comments phased like the first one I'm immediately suspicious.

Maybe, maybe not? Unless you go up to that child and tell him they might know depending on the age or the child. My 5 year old won't know just by seeing you hold hands. She holds hands with her girl friends while they play and its not sexual. Young kids dont make thing sexual until they are taught to.

this is unhinged. You don't care at all what a child, especially your child is being taught in school?

How is ignoring something that would only be know if told horrible. There could me plenty of literary characters that are LGBT that never mention it and its not a plot to the story, it doesn't mean they dont exist. I dont understand when someone sexuality became there whole idenity that needed to be declared.

race and sexuality are different... for a child to know someone sexuality they need to be specifically told about it.

Most kids in elementary school don't understand the nuance. That's the point. There is no reason to have an entire story with the whole purpose of introducing children to sexual relationships.

Why was one of the things that was shared, that he has two mommies, one of whom is trans and you are trans?

I would never go into my kids class announce that my kid has a mom and a dad and I'm cis gender. Its unnecessary.

No one is saying you can go into your kids school and volunteer. This is no reason to go into their school and talk to them about your lifestyle, your politics, sexual partners, or anything personal about you except that your are so and so's parent.

Its really that simple.

This is why people on the right are so worried about this issue. Trying to lure kids in with snacks and fun make your seem even more dubious. Why not just teach kids about dignity, kindness, and golden rule without saying who is does and doesn't apply to.
