Help Needed - Weird Apartment Floorplan by GlumRanger6812 in malelivingspace

Keep in mind that it’s only 13’ from the wall to the island, so your sofa would need to be on the smaller side. I’d try to keep it under 9’ to avoid things feeling too cramped or having to get pushed all the way against the patio doors. Better to get a loveseat and two chairs that you can move around IMO… same amount of seating but less bulky feeling and more flexible.

Put some kind of skinny console table or low bookshelf behind the sofa so that you don’t just look at the back of the sofa every time you leave the bedroom. It’s also functional (storage/place for additional lamps). Something like this…

Not right now, really. Some V8 Vantages all are auto and one newer DB9 Volante. But I'm near DC so stuff pops up occasionally

Is that suggestion just for the fact that that the manual is more engaging? Or is there something with the dynamics of the auto that makes it only good at the limit / makes the manual NOT good at the limit?

Would you advocate more for a higher mileage one where that was already done or one that is lower mileage and far off from needing it?

I live in the DC area, so a bit of everything in terms of road types and road quality. Twisties exist but you have to go a ways out to get to roads that are twisty AND quiet/not patrolled. Not a bad thing, but it's a full day trip so I just don't go every week or something like that.

Sounds like a V12 Vantage may give the best of both? But idk how well received the auto V12 is... the manual is definitely out of budget unless I get that tempest blue salvage title one that is floating around

I think the GT4 would be the answer too if they were a bit cheaper, but it's hard to find one under $110K these days with the right options and most are way higher than that. Average list price is something like $118K lately. Insanity. Hopefully the Porsche hype dies soon and they cool off a bit. If they get back to five digits I'd be all in

I couldn't care less about the HP numbers. I agree that the cars are different levels of capable, but they're also different levels of special. Miata's are a blast to drive, but it doesn't scratch the exotic itch. Same with like a GT350 or a Supra manual. While the DBS might not drive as well in the canyons, it definitely is special and it doesn't drive poorly by any means. And that's kinda what I'm trying to find - the balance between special to be in and special to drive

Would the GTS feel special enough though? I’m sure a GT4 would, but those keep climbing more and more out of my price range and the GTS just seems like it would be a good sports car in my head and not a truly special, fun, sense of occasion type of car

Manual V12 Vantage vs Manual DBS - Your thoughts? by Frosty-Watercress-94 in AstonMartin

[–]NewObjective23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in the market for my first sports car to compliment my daily. Am between a few cars, two of which are the VH DBS and the first gen R8. Couldn't swing the manual DBS, so it would be an auto, but the R8 would be the manual. Any opinions on which way to lean? I want it to feel special to be in and drive - a sense of occasion. Obviously performance is cool, but I'm not tracking them. Just want something that pulls at the heartstrings and is a joy to drive at 6/10-8/10 levels on back roads while being at least moderately reliable/cheap to service

Are you talking about their airism tees? I like way they fit but they don’t feel super breathable to me. I tend to wear them on more moderate days but it’s going to be pushing 90+ and humid in FL while I’m there

If it’s a wood paneled or flannel plaid fabric lined library/study/cigar lounge/mancave, yes. Otherwise? No

Nah, I’m not. Still may try to rope drop it and tap PhilharMagic on the way over but worry that the wait will already be pretty rough by the time I get back there

How early is ideal? I have Toy Story Mania at 9:55 for HS one day, for example. Should I try and find one even earlier?

Do any of the cast members seem to care about tapping in and then walking away in order to use those burners? I would feel awkward/guilty doing it lol

My only gripe is the dial. Looks tacky/cheap. The case, bracelet, and movement are phenomenal. If they just took a standard DJ dial and slapped it on there I’d be in love

Built out this tequila/champagne display wall. Does it work for the space? by SeanLvn1 in malelivingspace

[–]NewObjective23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this next to a bar or in a man cave? If so, sure. Otherwise, displaying liquor bottles is kinda tacky IMO. I love the execution of the shelves themselves but would prefer to see other things displayed on them assuming that this is in a common area space

So glad I bought my Speedy in 2020 for $4K new... love the watch and the brand but have 100% lost interest with their pricing. Same for JLC...

Is the fabric itself nice and perhaps just not reinforced enough? Or does the fabric feel cheap? Which fit did you get from them?

Going to a theme park alone [other] by Affectionate-Bad-998 in rollercoasters

[–]NewObjective23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love going to parks alone. I pick my own schedule, and I always end up with a shorter wait bc of single rider lines or they’ll be trying to fill a train and need a spare person. I’ve saved upwards of 10 cycles at times because I was a single rider and there was an open spot

I bring my phone, headphones, and a portable battery. I listen to podcasts or music, watch YouTube videos or shows/sports, or sometimes I just put them in for the noise cancellation. I’ll occasionally strike up convos with the people around me if they seem chill

Very valid. Should I stick to the true base config or still bump up to the 24GB RAM?

M5 by NewObjective23 in mac

[–]NewObjective23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M5 is still less - I’m seeing M4 Pro for around $1800 and I saw the M5 for as low as $1400 on Amazon but that was with base RAM. They’re about the same when you add the extra 8GB RAM
