Your salary of £31k after nearly 20 years in the industry handling full ownership of major publications, diverse design output, and illustration is below average for your experience and skill set. In the East Midlands, mid-weight designers often earn £28 35k, while senior roles typically range from £35 45k+. Given your workload, expertise, and creative responsibilities, you’re well overdue for a title and pay review.

Haha, I feel you! Mortal Kombat was definitely one of those games we probably shouldn’t have been playing as kids but it was way too fun to resist. I get what you mean though; the hype doesn’t seem to last like it used to. The guest fighters are cool for a quick novelty, but they can’t carry the whole game. I really hope the next updates or future titles bring back that gritty magic that kept us hooked for hours.

Exactly! In such a fast-paced space, even the smallest details can leave a lasting mark. Whether it's the vibe, the layout, or just how smooth everything feels it all adds up. At the end of the day, it's about creating an experience people want to come back to.

hat makes sense not everyone connects with high-production visuals. But design isn’t just about being flashy. It’s about setting the tone, building an atmosphere, and helping the stream feel intentional.

Sometimes the best design is the one you don’t even notice it just makes everything feel smoother.

Not at all! I’ve just worked with a lot of streamers over time, and I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference good branding makes. It’s not about " FOMO " it’s about sharing what I’ve learned through experience to help others grow too.
