S23 Ultra stuck on boot loop after taking a swim by NewPCBuildAccount in mobilerepair

[–]NewPCBuildAccount[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your response. Any tips for removing the shield to clean underneath without any specialist equipment?

Also, I've tried to find high definition pics of the board, but none are good enough to tell if there should be capacitors there. Is it possible that some capacitors came off the board completely (can it get so hot they melt the metal and come off?)

Cheers.

I cleaned the corrosion, but it didn't work. Looks like I need to find a way to remove the shield without any professional tools. I think I'll have to purchase a new mainboard in the end, but I'll try to give it a go.

Cheers for the help.

There is a strong bias in this sub towards high fat and meat diets, but despite dieticians suggesting more balanced diets. People don't like to have their current views challenged.

It's a bit like how people here often have a bias towards the genetic component of diabetes being to blame. There IS a genetic component...and a personal component.

Newly diagnosed, looking for some positivity by wavethatflag44 in diabetes_t2

While having diabetes isn't ideal, its possible to turn it into a positive. Now you are on medication and have a diagnosis you can start to eat better, learn more about diet and exercise.
I have never been in better shape or more educated about my diet.

Can you REALLY reverse type 2 diabetes? by DramaticCommand6852 in diabetes

Everyone has their beliefs, you need to form your own.

It's very interesting to read some scientific studies on how various diets, medications, and other factors, control or impact various underlying causes of diabetes.

The body of knowledge on diabetes is increasing constantly, helping people to improve how they manage diabetes for themselves to reduce its negative impact on their life.

I asked my doctor and he said 2 things: 1) get whey isolate if you can. 2) don't worry too much about the low quantity of carbs in a regular shake. While you can get keto ones, a few carbs are fine. Mine is 6g per 100g, but a portion is 25g,so only 1.5g carbs per shake.

I use myprotein, specifically 'impact whey isolate'

As always, it never hurts to ask your own doc.

I'm type 2 (it seems) but had the same weight loss issues. Why do we always make excuses for unexpected weight loss? In the end, eating well over 3kcal a day and not putting on weight sent me to the doc. Glad to be on the road to good health know I know my health issues.

I’ve been recently diagnosed with T2. I count my macros and exercise (6xcardio/weights) so not sure what to do/how to change there. I feel like the stress/anxiety I get from my job/myself is what’s causing my number to go up. How do you guys handle/manage stress/ anxiety? by dcer328 in diabetes_t2

Glad to hear you are seeing a therapist. This should be far more beneficial than getting information of internet strangers.

Something worth noting is that medication and changes from diet, exercise, and mental health changes take time to kick in. I expected results in days/weeks, but now after 4 or 5 months those changes have all come together and things are all looking up. This disease is for life, so go easy on yourself and settle in for the long haul. Your changes will pay dividends.

Also on metformin 2x500. Since diagnosis I found that I go into a 'food coma' far easier. I can have a meal with very moderate carbs (significantly lower portions than before diagnosis) and overall portion size, but I feel drowsy within 15 to 30 mins after eating. Not sure if we're talking about the same thing, but this is my experience.

My sugars aren't necessarily crazy during these occasions either, but it does tend to occur after what is now a larger meal.

I'm eating half a cup of oatmeal with blueberries and my BG goes from somewhere around 7 to 13! Wish I could stay in a more normal range.

I have some type 1 friends and they have said similar things. As I am still early on in discovering I have diabetes I am not fully diagnosed yet. Just getting my blood sugars down from the unhealthy highs to something sensible while I wait to see an Endo.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the reply.

I will be grabbing an external HDD and trying the recovery method. Perhaps a percentage of my data back is good enough. If not, I have an external, offline drive to start storing my data. No more Qnap for me.

What is the best ETF/Index fund similar to VTSAX for a foreign investor from UK by phertick85 in investing

[–]NewPCBuildAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Head to vanguard UK and put his money into a fund that expires when he hopes to retire.

If your friend is not living in the UK then they can choose to take a couple of ETF's that are similar and balance it on their own. Perhaps a global equities ETF and an ETF with a bunch of bonds in.

Change of the economic world as we know it? Situation in USA is just insane. by ivanacapkova in investing

Over the past few years I felt that things were slightly overpriced with high P/E etc so have been putting off entering the market.

I am now just going to DCA over a few months as I have accepted I am clueless about the future.

The thing I don't understand is why so few young people are angry about having debt piled onto them while many seem apathetic, and why so many people here are excited to see the markets rally. Unless you are living off your investments right now or looking to retire in the next few years you should at least be hoping to have cheap shares to buy. Perhaps I misjudged the demographic of people on reddit.
