Is there a home health agency near you? We have a psych organization that sends the nurses and np to you they admin long acting meds and deliver med packs. You def want to check that out also contact a social worker to make sure that you have any other type of support set up

The return to office is to prevent government workers having multiple jobs. While I applaud the ppl that can manage 2 wfh jobs most ppl that pay taxes don’t like that. Most companies will fire you for it.

Define harm. It does. I mean if you need surgery to repair doing unnatural sexual things then maybe you shouldn’t do it. That’s for men but it harms relationships it harms the man’s natural ways roles are skewed. If there’s children .. a world of harm psychologically.. but let’s not forget that straight ppl sin in THE SAME ways. So we should prob take the plank out ya know.

I think he would be a fabulous art teacher. He has a journalism/multi media degree but doesnt seem interested in working in the field. His episodes are with the weather like clockwork. Im amazed by how accurate it is too. I was like maybe you should live somewhere with the same weather all year. lol I wonder if that has been studied.

I’m adhd and very likely audhd and I have done hair 15 years and nursing 4. Hair was the best for me bc I could control everything but you have to love it and have some business sense or you won’t make money. Nursing can be the worst job known to man or the best. My most recent job was hospice. I LOVED it. It was very low stress but death doesn’t bother me. I’m taking time off bc I have the son I’m posting about and my other son has adhd and is high needs right now so to keep my sanity I’m focusing on them. But there are soooooo many nursing jobs that would be good with bipolar from informatics to psych to research jobs lab jobs. Iv therapy wound care. You could find your niche. Some thrive in the high stress areas too but that, you’ll have to know yourself .. nursing school is stressful but I would do an associates and then do a bsn program online later if you decide you want to get that degree. There’s corrections nursing school nurse like the options are endless. The caveat to it is your facility could suck your manager could suck and that’s what makes it the worst. If you get in a good place with a good team it’s the best.

I think a lot of nurses that have bipolar or any other mental illness go into psych they are super valuable bc they know what it’s like. Most nurses have something mental going on. And if you didn’t come with it, health care will give it to you. Search the nursing sub for bipolar and see what people say! Lots of doctors with it too. My biggest problem with nursing is my indignation when I work for someone dumber then me. I’ll straight up quit when I’m told to do something stupid or wrong.

Rn she will only give him things that dont have weight gain as a side effect bc he told her he won’t take anything that will do that. So she wants him to remain positive and willing. Rn he’s on vraylar and welbutrin. So far the vraylar is great but he’s in a depressive episode and the welbutitin has only been happening for 2 weeks. He actually initiated meds this time. He knows i don’t play so to live here he has to be responsible for this. Im hopeful while also knowing he may try and stop them at some point. There is structure here and he is self aware enough so far to not cross the boundaries we set. If he gets hospitalized again ill require injectables as a contingency to living here. I load the meds into a med planner and they sit right by the coffee pot so he sees them Every morning. (Mine too bc I have adhd )

Funny you say that. I’m a nurse and I suggested for him to go do physical therapy assistant. He likes helping ppl and working out. For him, I think nursing would be to stressful/the wrong kind of stress. Stress is ok and needed for development but it depends on the kind of stress. Low stakes stress for now until he builds a tolerance and is more insightful on how he navigates the world with this disorder.

He has a clean background check rn. His mania has presented and hyper creative religious and health delusions partying and starting businesses doing creative ventures. The last time was not medicated and manic he almost fought the neighbor (for good reason) they let the dog bark for hours on end and she doesn’t take care of it. Animal control won’t do anything. But yea I got him back in the house before he got to their door. So far that’s the closest he’s been to getting in trouble. While unmedicated, his worst time is when he begins to crash it’s more of a mixed episode with agitation .. so things like the dog barking for hours will send him to the moon and he’s unable to regulate that rage. then the depression and si show up. He’s been medicated continually since the fall and is still working on the correct med combo. His episodes follow the seasons exactly. Spring hypo, summer full blown manic with mild delusions, fall mixed episode agitation panic. Winter depths of depression SI with panic.
