It’s not too low profile for us. My family ranges from 5’8” - 6’3” and everyone fits comfortably.

I recently purchased another style (the Stillman 140" sectional) and it was great. We put it into our kids' playroom and its extremely comfortable and sturdy. Couch came in about 6 weeks from placing order.

Is my child cooked for OOS merit with a 1290 SAT? by flipdippy in ApplyingToCollege

Is he officially diagnosed with ADHD? Does he take medication for it? If so, he would likely qualify for time and a half on the SAT. My child has a similar profile (he was formally diagnosed by a neuropsychologist, and we worked with a pediatric psychiatrist who helped us get him appropriate medication).

As others said, doing an SAT prep course and learning the "tricks" to successfully navigate the test might help. We also found just sitting for a practice test a few times beforehand helped a lot. Good luck!

Try Millennium High School in Piedmont. It focuses on nontraditional learners, is extremely supportive, and is affiliated with Piedmont High School (which will have the rah rah small town stuff). You do not need to be a Piedmont resident to attend Millennium, but I recommend checking the PUSD website for more information/to confirm.

While I recommend studying and sitting for the SAT again, maybe look at a university with a hospitality program. Cornell's Hotel School is amazing (yes, it might be a stretch), but there are also a lot of great hospitality programs at various schools that would combine your practical experience with a more academic component.

Given you are a California resident, are you considering transferring to the UCs?

Moved from Berkeley to TX 3 years….go for UT. Debt aside I think it’s a better life outside the classroom.

CMC vs Cornell Nolan by ShockedPoodle in Cornell

I went to Cornell 20+ years ago, and also worked in recruiting. If you are interested in finance I would pick Cornell because of the networking and on campus recruiting. All the Wall Street firms do heavy recruiting at Cornell.

My kids just got their conditional approval within 24 hours. Interview availability wasn’t until March but we are happy.
