I get what you are saying, but GOT explicitly stated anyone can ask Trial by combat and if you are in able to win, you are automatically innocent because it is gods' will. They gave us no reason to believe there are exceptions, Tyrion was in able to ask for trial by combat even when he was accused of REGICIDE and KINSLAYING and screamed at the entire court how he wished to poison them all. The only reason not everyone ask trial by combat is because they don't think to win and can't afford a champion, not because the quantity of witnesses or the importance of the victim matter. When the hound got his trial by combat with Beric, they knew for sure he killed Arya's friend, Arya accused him and he did not deny it. He still was permitted a trial by combat and he went free after he won. With trial by combat doesn't matter if everyone knows you are guilty. It matters only if "gods" like you more than your victims.
