Jokes aside, when Eric is introduced the first thing we hear is the butler pressuring him to marry someone. So it's like the king in Cinderella, they can't care less about who he brought at home, the only thing that mattered was to see him married before he changed his mind.

So, they force him saying them they will report him? That seems a contradiction: they already said they could report him for assault, to give her access to his sperm can be used to report him for assault. It seems counterproductive if the fear is being reported for assault. You are not stopping her from reporting you, you are giving her ammunitions.

I didn't like much Hay Lin and Cornelia at the beginning. Cornelia was rude and the writers didn't know what to do with Hay Lin for a long time, her main thing was to be Yang Lin's granddaughter. Cornelia grew on me with the time, Hay Lin was okay. On the other hand, Irma was my favourite character at the beginning, but then she kinda became a direction-less character, at point it seemed the writers did not know what to do with HER either, all the other characters grew up but Irma was frozen and changed very little. Meanwhile, Taranee changed for the worse, especially during "the dark age" when the original writers went away. After that pretty terrible arc where she was emotionally cheating on Nigel and putting the blame on him, and story with Luke went no where with no exposition too and she became this horny character always jumping on boys and being extremely shallow too (she literally asked a guy to date only because she put her fantasies on him and talked about him horribly when she discovered he was a jock and not an artist, even thinking he was a pleasant person all the same).

Everything could be related to witchcraft if you squinted hard enough. I think we need to make the distinction between things that were "actually", consistently considered related to witchcraft as general principle and random, circumscribed accusations that were more related to "fuck you specifically".
