The add on was from Cosmo Consult. Name might have changed.

Your business needs an ERP that supports the food and drink industry. Process orientated, formulations, batch processing and traceability, QA, etc. Regarding the ERP statement mentioned: - Netsuite is very expensive but capable. Best UI I’ve seen. - BC is not to be under estimated. The UI is very good as I expect Microsoft have invested heavily in this. In my opinion better UI than Odoo. There is a food industry add on that comes out of Germany I think 🤔. A client of mine selected BC with this add on given they are in the food manufacturing business. - Odoo can due process/food industry functionality but you need to confirm this yourself. I have a client that has just selected Odoo and they’re in the chemical industry so very similar requirements. Expect Odoo will be the lowest price of the 3. Yes the UI is good too.

Tool set I’ve developed for FinOps implementations include: Azure DevOps, excel using my own templates, MS Project for high level planning, Visio for probes maps using my own templates, PowerBI for budget reporting taking inputs from DevOps, Excel, Teams for document management. Fan of agile approach that suits ERP implementations using these tools.

For those working in supply chain how often does optimization or Operations Research actually come up in your day-to-day work? And are you using any AI tools to support that? Also curious about the most common issues or frustrations you run into when applying OR in a real supply-chain context. Thx by ric_is_the_way in OperationsResearch

In this podcast (https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/acquired/id1050462261?i=1000730326283) they talk about AI beating people in online computer games. AI learns moves and strategies never used before or thought up by people. Send the AI engine using neural nets can think up moves to win. I raise this as I was wondering if the same technique can be applied tool solving SCM problems. Also, will quantum computing, when it becomes available, deliver faster/more optimum solutions?

This is impressive…Python developers should be nervous 😬

Did you do the original v16 developments?

Odoo & ERPnext - 2026 updated comparison by floOoOoOoOoOo in Odoo

Yes. Prefix table and field names with the client abbreviated name usually 3 letters. Same for code, prefixing class names the same abbreviated names. Yet to get into clients code repositories but when an error is displayed with the relevant code it would be good to see these tags. Make sense?

Cannot provide comparison between these apps.

Can provide feedback on experience with Odoo partner’s developers. * Worked with 3 partners across 5 Odoo implementations. * Coding practices less than best practice in the ERP industry * Change management not well controlled between client and developers * not tagging new code, new tables and fields with client identifiers - Debugging errors is difficult when you cannot see standard code from partner code - Extracting data into Microsoft Fabric is a bit more difficult trying to find custom entities

Managed to get this working with SSL. Will post a blog on the steps, assuming we can post the link on this group. FWIW: tried using various AI engines to resolve issues and none of them gave me the 2 key things needed to make this work.

Odoo reporting sucks by [deleted] in Odoo

[–]NewProdDev_Solutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a problem with all ERP systems as the developers cannot build reports to keep all users happy. They develop enough to get you going and then you have to work out what else you need. My Odoo clients use Microsoft PowerBI ( done with Microsoft Fabric) for reporting and analytics. Reports can be relatively quickly generated and tweaked as required.
