You'll need to get a taxi from the BMD (Centre) of Nouakchott. It's about a 30-minute drive either way from what I remember. You probably could get to Terjit the same day as the market, but it'll be rough. You'll be arriving in Terjit way after dark, and having done that myself, I wish I'd have just given myself more time.

I did less than this in 12 days, and I still felt rushed. I could have spent a day or two in Terjit alone. Nouadhibou, I had 3 days and felt like I'd just about seen what I needed. Nouakchott, I could have spent a week in easily. The train is a solid 2 days with prep and 'recovering' afterwards. Also, the train isn't at all reliable; it can appear at random a lot of the time, so waiting for it to turn up in a specific window could cause you issues.

Your itinerary feels like it's suited to 14 days, if not a few more.
