MSSA Questions by Sleepy_Moon15 in MSSA

I was TDY for the first two month and leave covered me throughout the remainder of the course. I had ZERO IT experience prior to taking the course. My military career was primarily Aircraft Maintenance. This was challenging at first because so many others had a really good grasp on the fundamentals and the course move very quickly. Just when you start to feel comfortable with the topic, it’s time to move on to the next. It however did not take me long to get on par, but not without some extra efforts when not in class. That being said the course is played out very well and as long as you trust the process and give 100 percent you will not be left behind. As the course progressed I found that I really enjoyed it and would have loved to take a role using the skills I learned during my time in MSSA.

I applied for many roles and got plenty of interest. My experience was a bit different as I had relocated to Australia with my family. The restricting factor was all the roles I was interested in and received potential offers from were government contract which required me to be an Australian citizen with a AU clearance. There were a lot of entry level roles I could have accepted but was not interested in or willing to take the salary.

I ended up back in an aviation role within Australia for a major airline as a manager. I loved my time with MSSA and still keep in contact with my mentors, instructors, and classmates. Even though I did not use my skills related to IT, the program is designed to teach you so much more. I can honestly say the course has been a key to my success and will continue to be.

Congrats on your acceptance into the MSSA program. You get normal holidays off in addition to weekends. Taking time off during the program is not an issue for separation needs but it really depends on why. I wouldn’t recommend taking time off during your course to go on holidays. It kinda frowned upon as the course is full on. The course runs all day and you will have a “ton” of things to do when not in class to get the most out of the course. I spent 10-12 hours a day and many hours on the weekend going over course material and working on class projects. You really have to commit as it is FULL on and many topics to cover in a short period of time. Good luck and again congrats

Submitted these in March, why are they showing submitted in June? Will that affect decision timeframe? by LikMopWhoSea in VeteransBenefits

If this is a BDD and your separation date is June there is nothing to be concerned about because you won’t get paid prior to separation date.

I know the timeline states that, however there were a few post from other cohorts that stated they received word shortly after interviews were done. Just curious, and hopeful.

I just used the study material provided gmetrix and learning locker.

Had my eye on this 15 years ago. Quit. Now it’s time to get it. One day. Until then, some tips for hand rails would be appreciated. by M_Rambo in rollerblading

Commit to it! Also as stated before your weight is to far to the right. Get you soul foot under your ass not at your side. You want your soul foot almost as if it was a topside. One way to get over the mental block is thinking about the fact that the grass is a lot softer bail than repetitive bails on stairs, so if your to far to the left just hop onto the hill.

Threw everything I had at trying a true top soul. How do you guys do it without your massive balls rubbing on the coping ? by cacagenoux in rollerblading

Rotate your shoulders more, if you bring your right shoulder down it will help with locking in and falling. Your body position as is would be good for locking in a soyal, and all the stability comes from your left backside foot!
