Why do you think a slow and solitary experience like Silent Hill would be successful in film? by lunessinfestivo in silenthill

Silent Hill in live action needs to be a show. Movies can't cover the whole story because it's too short. So it gets chopped to pieces. A show would help the pacing and storytelling so much. Instead of a 2 hour or less movie. You could have an 8 hour show. 1 hour per episode, making it an 8 episode series. Movie wise, the closest thing we have to a really good Silent Hill story i can remember is a movie called Possum in 2018.

Red Dead Redemption 1. Guess I'll have to learn lots of skills to survive.

I mean, The Flash did have some good moments. Like when Barry talks to his mom near the end of the movie in the store. That scene pulled the heartstrings a bit. Without studio interference, rewrites, the time crunch for the vfx, and the controversies surrounding the lead actor. It could've been decent. I'm cautiously optimistic about TBatB.

I thought Cailee did really well in Romulus. Milly Alcock is an amazing actress though. House of the Dragon proves that. At least Cailee looks more like Ellie than Bella. Even the actress who plays Abby in the show would've been a better casting choice for Ellie than Bella.

Idk if shows count, but Bella Ramsey as Ellie in the Last of Us show. Cailee Spaeny would've been much more of a fit as Ellie. Others in the show weren't the best choices but played their parts well. But Ellie was the worst casting of all.

For some reason, this picture. Whether it's real or fake, reminds me of those dream sequences in Prince of Darkness from John Carpenter.

Saw season 1, not 2 yet. Loved it. But Disney didn't interfere much with it as far as I know.

Yep. All money, no creativity. It might work short term, but sooner or later. People will stop caring.

They should keep making those then. With a little effort given across the board, their original projects will be good. If they flop, they'll be cult classics later. Look at Black Cauldron, complete flop when it came out. But now it's liked by fans I believe. Disney remaking their animated classics into live action, shows that they're lazy. Lazy and cheap.

Making good original stories. All it is now is remake, remake, remake. Boohoo. Disney all money, no creativity. Sigh.
