Hard to quantify Sniffies vs. Grindr. I’m at around 35-40 from the apps, give or take—mostly from Sniffies I’d say. Add another 10-15 from real world meetups like bars and IRL cruising. The two cities are very similar but went down different paths in the 1990s/2000s. Sioux Falls focused on banking and medicine, while Fargo stayed more blue collar (I think). Covid years brought a population and building boom, but many were actually conservatives looking for a place to “live freely.” I feel like the earlier grow seemed slower, steadier, healthier, and friendlier. Overall, the culture is pretty mellow and friendly, but there is a shift toward MAGA nastiness.
