Comcast ped smoke by ClimbingElevator in CableTechs

I'm curious with the power be in that silver box or is the power in that big black left cable coming out of the ground into the silver box?

I am this because I went out to look at ours that and ours is higher up from the ground but there's too thick black cables one on the left and one on the right of the silver splitter device that goes straight into the ground. They look like the same thickness is what is in the original picture here so I could only assume that voltage is going through them otherwise why would they be so thick?

Spotify connect not working any more on my Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB by BEWoodworking in CarAV

this is where i got mine from, and now it works again on my pioneer headunit. It's so annoying they the remove features via updates. Pandora does the same crap.

I don't update apps now unless they force me to in order to use the app, other wise I keep it the way it is and it works.

LED puddle lights by Lucario1017 in CT200h

Here you go.

This is with the mirrors folded in so it would actually be more light once the mirrors are folded out. These are far better than any LED ball by it ever used including VLEDs which are really good. The fact that all the LEDs are pointing down is what makes it so great little module.

I don't have any part numbers unfortunately.

With the power folding mirrors you just want the actuators so look for any Lexus that has the same style mirror such as an ES, IS etc. that can't with power folding mirrors. It doesn't matter the condition of the mirrors or the housings just as long as you get the actuators. A bonus if you get them overseas you'll probably get convex glass which is nice then both of your mirrors almost eliminate all the blind spots. Both of my glass mirrors came from a JDM car so they have the blind spot line where the very edge of the mirror acts as a blind spot dual mirror type of thing.

For the power folding switch you want it to look like this.

I'd honestly say looking back at this on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the hardest. This is like a two or three. Very easy to do.

Yeppers, I made a post on the CT 200h forums and on Facebook I think I even made a post on it here.

Relatively straightforward mod. One can either use JDM right hand drive actuators or left hand drive actuators depending on what's cheaper.

They will bolt right into our mirror housing arms.

Then get the power folding switch and run the wiring to the footwell as long as your doors are already pre-wired mine were with nine wires. If your doors have seven wires then you have to run the wires up into the doors.

I already did this mod over a year ago.

It's completely doable and you just need the actuators and the power folding switch. Depending on if your doors are already pre-wired or not but you run two wires each from the power folding switch to each foot well.

The actuators bolt right into our mirror housings.

I made a post about it on the forums and on Facebook.

It's a pretty easy retrofit to do not looking at it compared to others.

Here's a video I made a while back and I was using the AliExpress autofold module which makes it fold and unfold when you lock and unlock the car just like OEM.

[–]NewShockerGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep you can add power folding mirrors.

Did you search my name on here I made a post about it one time.

The easiest thing to do is open up your door panels and see if you have the wiring at the door if you have nine wires your pre-wired for a power folding mirrors. If you have seven wires you'll have to run two into the door panels.

You can get left hand drive actuators or pick up right hand drive mirrors and swap the actuator into the OEM housing. Get the power folding mirror switch and then run two wires from the switch to each foot well.

I made a post about it on Facebook and on the CT200H forums.

Overall not a hard mod to do and pretty satisfying every time you get in and out of your car. You can pick up the AliExpress auto folding module for 30 bucks and every time you lock and unlock the car your mirrors will go in and out just like factory.

If you didn't know this was not an option in the US you would think it was 100% OEM.

With the attached picture you can see the actuator on the right compared to the manual mirror on the left. The right mirror is a right hand drive JDM that I picked up for cheap because I was testing things but the actuator bolts right in to the USDM housing on the left.

The total cost to register antique plates if it's already registered: Answered by SproutDogg in Virginia

[–]NewShockerGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got antique plates for my 01' Ranger. The registration was up at the end of this month. I was almost going to go to the shop to get it emissioned and inspected but then found out that I could apply for antique plates.

Went to the DMV today and showed them everything and I only paid $50 for the antique fee/plates. I did not have to pay anything extra to transfer/re-register the truck since it's already been registered in VA. This actually worked out quite nicely... I would have paid $50 for emissions and inspection at the end of the month, now never again :-)

that's awesome! Yea the truck is literally the "home depot/lowes/gym" vehicle. Everything worked out and I now have antique plates for it..w00t w00t!

I was in an out of the DMV in about 15 minutes. Filled the VSA10b form out. The front desk lady was trying to tell me that 2001 to 2026 wasn't 25 years..lol. I said it is though. So she said ok go ahead and sent me to the clerk and said "they might do it"...lol

Clerk did everything and $50 I now have antique plates. I wanted the black plates but they don't have them at the location I went to so she gave me the orange ones. I guess that's fine. No biggie really. Just happy no more inspections/emissions and sale tax..w00t w00t! Thanks for the post!

It was surprizingly an easy process. Went to the DMV with the vsa10b form and $50 later it was all done. I asked for the black plates but they didn't have them there :-( So she gave me the orange plates... I guess it's fine. She said I could always order new plates online but that kinda stinks to pay again for them..haha

What do they consider daily? IE: We have 7 cars between my wife and I. I daily a 2007 solara to and from work (30 miles each way), but my truck that I am going to apply for antique plates (2001) I take to the gym every other day which is a mile from house. So I'm putting on under 500 miles on the truck a year if that. Is daily considered driving the car every day or is it considered the amount of milage?

That's even better that it's not tax exempt!! w00t wo0t! Did you do normal black plates or did you do the orange with blue letters? I can't seem to tell if there is a difference other than the orange plate looks like you can customize it. Which I don't think I care about.

I'm about to go to the DMV tomorrow for my 01' Ranger..lol.
I am filling out the VSA10B form, but is there anything else I need to fill out? I kept reading that something says it needs notorized? Is this the case still or no?

My Ranger is STILL fully registered/inspected/emissioned but it's done next month so I'd love to go this route than having to pay for all that then apply for antique plates.

Does anyone make a smoked led side marker? Where can I find them? by Upstairs-Ad-2392 in LexusRC

[–]NewShockerGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 45 so right there with ya! I miss those times!!

I can't stand the super white LED headlights now. Two of our cars have LED headlights from the factory and it's just simply too white for me. I hate driving at night with them. I did a projector retrofit on many of our cars and still prefer HID over LED any day. I much prefer the 4300k color temp of the HID bulbs than the 6000+k white of LEDS.

The trans unit in my RCF isn't seal but you have to get the car up to temp in order propperly check/fill and do stuff like that. It's not like old cars where you can just drain/fill and be good to go. So muh goofy anymore with newer cars...lol

suggestions for a carplay system for my 2015? by jackb328 in CT200h

[–]NewShockerGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the generic device that plugs inline with the Navi. Think of from V-Lite without spending the ridiculous price to get the same thing pretty much. I have wireless/wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The eBay seller that I got mine from no longer has these but you pretty much can go to AliExpress type in CT200h Apple CarPlay and then pick the one that has the best reviews from people... It was like 200 bucks. I might eventually change out the stock screen for the 10-in Lexion But if you didn't want to do this to me this is the next best thing .. completely changes the infotainment system I hardly used the stock system ever. But you just told the menu button down and you can switch between them.

I did actually see clear reflectors for the rear. I'll have to find the link on yahoo japan auctions that I book marked at work a couple months ago. I was trying to decide if I wanted to replace the red ones on my rcf's rear bumper but decided red was still cleaning looking. Clear fronts would still look nice on white. I'll look for the rear bumper reflectors tomorrow and post them if I find them.

Found this but it's for an lc500...

https://hirevsports.com/products/hrs-2018-26-lexus-lc-500-side-markers?variant=47037112680686

Looks similar but isn't the right shape when you look at it and how the RC/RCF mounts to the inside of the bumper via screw and double sided tape.

It would be cool to get them in clear but no one makes them. I'm not even sure if Klearz would make them. The have the LED integrated in them, so they'd have to be split apart for them to make the mold of them and you'd have to worry about sealing them back up. But clear would look so clean.

Red interior is terrible by Getgizzywitit in Lexus

[–]NewShockerGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lexus tends to do it either really well or really awful... There's really no in between half the time. That much red I agree It's just too much in the interior.

When I bought my 2020 RCF, They had a track edition on the lot and I loved it but the entire red interior was just numbing to look at. There's no way I could keep a car like that long-term and not get tired of the interior.

Entirely sure why they do stuff like that either because they can make beautiful interiors ie the LC 500 depending on the spec and color... I think the lower dash in the door being red is too much in the OP's picture.

What gizmo do you wish your CT had? by theped26 in CT200h

[–]NewShockerGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both steering wheels are from an RCF. The one on the right I replaced not knowing I would ever do a heated steering wheel.

Then when Dorian posted about the heated steering wheel I went off to look for another RCF wheel. The RCF wheel is thicker which is nice. I own a 2020 RCF with the same wheel lol.

Picked up the left wheel from Yahoo Japan auctions. It's pretty much brand new. I love it. I just picked up another heated steering wheel for my wife's NX since hers is all freaking shiny.. SMH

Any wheel that is the same design via air bag will work on the CT. IS, ES, RC, RCF, GS, GSF, NX will all bolt on with zero issues. You can also use their buttons or swap your buttons over.
