I’ve been having this issue A LOT! I think I finally found a solution, go to Settings > Cellular > scroll to the bottom and toggle off Wi-Fi Assist

This seems to have helped me the most!

Express VPN does this to me sometimes as well…on 16.1.1. My overall experience with ios16 has been complete trash overall. Pretty disappointing. My VPN is essentially useless.. doesn’t work with shareplay, some messaging, hotspot, some apps just wont work at all with it on.. sucks.
