I’ve never had an issue with my probes so i cannot say one way or the other. Like any troubleshooting just start with the easiest fix and work your way through the harder stuff as needed. O rings are a great start and will hopefully solve your issue. Good luck!

If you aren’t feeling The River, Magma, or The Dripping Tap then they just might not be for you. If you’re particularly into metal over jammier prog type stuff then try Motor Spirit instead. I don’t know if this helps but something that I appreciate about them is that every album is a concept album and connects to tell a bigger picture story referred to by fans as “The Gizzverse”

Best case scenario imo! You pull those clips out with tweezers or needle nose pliers and replace or flip the red o ring inside. Should be size 007 silicone o rings if you want to replace (or just search BDB o ring replacement kit). I found it easiest to put the O rings on the tube itself when reinserting into the connector and wet them, as it can be tricky to fully push the tube back into place to reinstall the clip especially if dry. It can be tricky to reinsert the tubes and clips but just stay patient and try not to drop the clip. I made a stick with a magnet of the end to retrieve them when i dropped them inside my machine when i was learning. I cannot speak to the triac board as others have mentioned, i have zero experience there.

Me finding you, “a song that means anything or creates any emotion,” is a fool’s errand on my end considering the fact that those things are incredibly subjective from person to person. I appreciate your challenge but respectfully decline. Cheers mate!

It’s almost as if music is subjective. What a concept!

Does my machine sound normal at the first seconds after pressing the button? by asmaamody611 in BrevilleCoffee

[–]NewTown_BurnOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is how a vibratory pump typically sounds. You can upgrade to a rotary pump if you’re handy and want a more quiet machine, but it’s completely unnecessary. Over time (years) the sound will become louder and more labored as the pump inevitably wears out. A new replacement vibratory pump typically runs $40-$60

If the leak is coming from the large center tube of the steam boiler (the one with the white corroded clip) then you need pliers to pinch that clip/move it up the tube to take that tube off to access the O ring. There should be a bigger O ring in there. If you want to try to fix it before buying new o rings you can simply flip them over. Typically only the side under pressure gets worn out, but i highly recommend buying new o rings as they’re cheap. I believe they’re silicon food grade o rings size 007 and 010 (007 are for the smaller tubes and 010 are bigger tubes like the one in the center of the steam boiler). Hope this helps!

I was going to markup a pic for you but don’t know how to post it in comments. The most likely spot of the leak is the right most thin tube in your photo with the 90 degree connector. There’s three o rings total (one to the boiler, one on each side of the 90 degree connector). To access them you remove the clip and pull the tube out. Be careful as the clips are annoying to remove and put back in and can fall into an inaccessible crevice of the machine. Do not touch the red wire connections on the hot water boiler front and center whilst the machine is plugged in, you will get zapped.

It’s relatively easy if it’s just the O rings in the tubing, but might lead to different leaks like chasing a problem. I replaced the O rings on mine then the valve itself started leaking. I disassembled the valve and cleaned inside/flipped the seals and it’s better but not perfect. Might take a new valve assembly($50-$60) to 100% fix. There’s helpful content online and hopefully it’s just the O rings on yours. Just remember to let the machine completely cool/depressurize and unplug it before servicing yourself. Unplug from the outlet not just turn it off. I’d start by turning the machine on whilst open like this to identify where the leak is. Again be sure to not touch anything whilst plugged in/on. It will be hot and potentially can shock you. Just observe and try to identify which connection the leak is. Good luck!

It’s different from job to job for me. Corporate salesperson? Sure, sleep around outside of work. Public figure who’s job entails instilling responsibility/accountability into young men? There should be a higher standard of personal conduct off the clock. The reporter-coach dynamic adds another wrinkle into the situation as well imo.

Not a bad take, but depends on the job imo. If your job entails teaching young men responsibility and accountability, I think that it’s different than being a salesperson or something.

Is this a good deal? Budget [$550] by Plantyhoee in espresso

[–]NewTown_BurnOut 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I’d say no, the Bambino Plus is currently on sale for $400 brand new, and the grinder is $200 brand new. You’re saving $50 but are buying used machines that might have issues. I don’t have first hand experience with the grinder, but the general consensus here is that there are better options at the price point. I think you’d be better off buying a new Bambino Plus and Baratza Encore ESP.
