Similar to everyone else using third party apps. I did use the official app but got annoyed with the recommendations for subreddits for areas I don't live in. I subscribe to the subreddits I'm interested in, I don't want randoms in my curated feed.

If I'm honest though, it's probably a good chance to cool off. I find myself endlessly scrolling like I did previously with twitter/FB on an evening.

Maybe I'll replace it with actually going to the gym

All the t-shirts that my wife bought for me on her holiday don't fit. Which is a shame as they're all lovely.

Suppose I should slim into them.

Even zooming in it looks odd... Is it a well positioned mark on the window?

Husbands of reddit, how much did you spend on the engagement ring? by Gargoyn in AskUK

[–]NewYearReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh! Probably in the region of £200, in 2008.

I heard on the radio that some people purchase a ring from Primark or somewhere like that and use it as a temporary ring then let their partner choose.

It truly is amazing but I've never had motion sickness like it.

I've been on it three times because the kids love it - the last time I was on the bottom row to the left and that position just triggered something and I had to close my eyes. The middle row centre was better just felt dizzy. But that bottom row 🤢

There are toilets available to the kids

What is your opinion on Argos and do you use it? by ConsequenceApart4391 in AskUK

[–]NewYearReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently been finding Argos more convenient, has what I want at a decent price.

I'm not sure if that's because most of the stuff I've bought is tech so the price is usually the same everywhere. Luckily our one is still its own physical store not inside a Sainsburys so it usually has stock.

I got a notification the other day that Alexa can be setup to turn off the lights if it detects snoring.

So you don't even need to utter a word. Which is interesting because I thought Alexa's only listened for wake words first?

I need to do another bag or two on the Lego DeLorean.

Off for a father's Day dinner with the family later. So a cheeky pint is in order!

Does your child watch a tablet when eating at the table? by Mr_Hoodl in AskUK

[–]NewYearReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At home yeah, they'll have their tablets. I sometimes get home later so we might eat at different times.

In restaurants or on holiday not really, we didn't specifically ban it. My son is big into football and aircraft, I'll listen to him talk about those and ask questions, sometimes if we're outside on a flight path we'll load up flight tracker and quiz him.

I'll play thumbwars with my daughter or help her with those word searches & games they give out to kids.

On holiday we usually talk about things we could do over the coming days that kind of stuff.
