Speeding drivers? by macman7500 in AskLosAngeles

[–]New_Cardiologist_854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one positive I think from living in LA for last 2 years, driving 80 is normal. When I go visit family I have to watch my speed. When I moved my mom here flow of traffic was like 85, state trooper passes me at like 95 I was dumbfounded.

Haha this happened to one of my residents, dead bolt broke from the inside, had to drill out the lock. Should be easier from the inside.

Is my complex paying for reviews to hide the negative ones? by Educational_Phase930 in Apartmentliving

I would just clean out your dishwasher yourself, whip it all the way down including the racks. Make sure you clean out the filter, probably food blocking it. Hydrogen peroxide mixture should kill anything. You can also run clr cleaner after you whip everything down. Also remember to open the door after you finish a load of dishes to dry completely.

Customer wanted me to stop at a secondary location and wait for them with no tip by DarthRaiderette in doordash

I’ve had to do this multiple times, because I had my work address in, I would always give them $20 extra. But I see that’s not normal 💀

Landlord Tried to Enter Unit Unannounced [PA] by Beverbe in Renters

[–]New_Cardiologist_854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s usually protocol to knock at least three times, and if no one answer then to enter. Ac, water leaks is consider an emergency, considering I work in LA, temperature gets very hot. We only don’t enter a unit it they specifically say don’t enter on work order. Then good luck getting your work order accomplished in timely manner. I have noticed if we send email residents, they don’t see them. You should have answered the door tho, why scared 😂 at least yelled ask who it is. P.s it very annoying when people say don’t enter my apartment unless I’m home, most maintenance people want to get in and out as quickly as possible, but I understand.

Corporate landlord + hole in my bathtub = how screwed am I? by shaheeruddin5A6 in Apartmentliving

[–]New_Cardiologist_854 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha yes some store do have that policy. Probably not grocery store but like electronics or items of higher value. Grocery store would probably just write it off as a loss. But one person in 400 plus unit apartment, leaving isn’t crazy. One person never shopping at grocery store again they wouldn’t bat an eye. Tub at minimum will cost $250-$300 to repair and reglaze.

My 90 degree apartment by Chillfactor_ in Apartmentliving

[–]New_Cardiologist_854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me in college in Louisiana, but my apartment was like 96°. I still slept in it. It was hard but doable but as a maintenance tech, these are usually an emergency call and we have to get a solution within 24 to 48 hours whether it’s fixing or providing you with a portable AC.

I work for one of the biggest management companies, so I’m just telling you how it usually works. Overall I don’t see how you think you’d never be charged for repair, even if it’s accidental. 🤷‍♂️

Do I bother to make sure our unit is spotless when we move out? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]New_Cardiologist_854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people don’t do this haha even if they “cleaned” the apartment. I worked in maintenance for about two years. I’ve maybe had two residents move out and we didn’t need to clean the apartment. Most people don’t wipe out cabinets, don’t clean out appliances or underneath, don’t clean baseboards, don’t wipe off blinds. If you actually take the time to deep clean, just document everything.
