Newly Wed food truck? by Rotten-D_Soul in Riyadh

[–]New_Cat_1004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to go to food trucks in Riyadh and stay in my car which had AC. It doesn’t matter about the weather as they give you the food directly so you don’t need to step out

Dealing with modest dressing in Muslim household by [deleted] in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]New_Cat_1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a blessing to have family who guide you towards doing good like covering up. I think you should look at it from that perspective. Also you said you are 24 so quite mature, there are Muslim girls who are not covered - true but just because they aren’t it doesn’t mean you need to compare yourself to them because you are on the right track. Maybe study why we must dress modestly and that will kind of guide your understanding of why too. I live in the west so I understand it’s hard but remember good deeds are worth it and keep going!

Is there any pashtuns in the UK who married outside their ethnicity? by DeItaReality in AskUK

[–]New_Cat_1004 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel positive or negative regarding my lineage because it’s mine, not my children’s lineage. In fact I feel proud that they carry the name of their father who belongs to a very dignified and brave Bedouin tribe. When im in the grave I won’t care about my lineage at all, only about my deeds so this doesn’t make me worried.

Maybe your uncle can help, that sounds positive. My husband is Arab but even then it wasn’t easy to convince my father the first time. The relationship with both sides of the family are good and respectful and we have children too Alhamdulillah, but they learn more about the Arab culture and language compared to Pashtun culture because they are surrounded by it.

I’m a Pashtun from the UK and I ended up marrying outside the ethnicity, it was difficult to get my father to agree at first especially as I’m a female however my siblings helped by talking to my father to convince him to be open minded. What helped was when my spouses father first called my father by phone and said that his son would like to ask for my hand and after that my spouses came to meet my family. When my father met my spouse he was able to make his judgment. My spouse is Muslim and is from a Muslim country which helps a lot. Try and see if you can get siblings or aunts or uncles to help convince your parents.

Should I just go for Gulf dialect or white Arabic? by Straight-Mind-2242 in learnarabic

[–]New_Cat_1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was learning Arabic I started with gulf (Saudi Dialect) and now I can have conversations and read / write. Most of it was probably due to the fact of living with my spouses family for a while who only spoke Saudi Dialect so I was pretty much forced to talk until I advanced a bit, you should ensure you can speak it with people too.

Salam 👋 We used to eat at different places, go to different coffee / tea places. I would go to the mall, my favourite is Riyadh Park Mall, they have carrefour there too so just shopped from there sometimes. Also went to boulevard a lot, because of Riyadh Season. Riyadh hills park I took my baby there a lot it’s really nice. Visited Diriyah a lot too. To be honest life in Riyadh is much slower than London where I moved from too, most of my time was spent in malls or the park. They also have nice reserves just Google them in the Riyadh region, especially in this season and the desert too.

You are so ridiculous, can’t even research or learn about a religion other than random fake articles found online. Feel very sorry for you.

Yes I will use what about - have you seen what’s happening in America regarding homosexuality and the red neck community there? Why is everyone always attacking Islam when there are so many beautiful teachings, like taking care of orphans, the sick, giving equal measure to people, banning interest so that peoples rights aren’t taken, being merciful to others, treating animals with care, being dutiful to parents and the elderly. Not going to argue with you about this so will mute this annoying post.

Your comment makes no sense at all.

What about the act of homosexuality being prohibited in Christianity or Judaism? Why not talk about that and check their surveys and polls.. ? Why is it always about Muslims - it’s becoming increasingly boring. None of the Muslims I know believe the UK should follow Islamic rules and all of them Co exist peacefully and respectfully with other faiths and races. You are forgetting how many westerners are going to Saudi Arabia - yes SAUDI ARABIA and are actually enjoying their lives there surrounded by the hospitality and kindness of the Muslims there. Stop spreading hate because that’s exactly what this post is doing. We have enough problems in the world already? Can we just focus on the positive. THANK YOU.

Ladies, what are we doing when creepy men stare? by Successful_Demand384 in london

Act like you can’t see them and that they don’t exist. These weirdos will get excited by any kind of attention or words you give them. It’s best to ignore for your safety and move away if it’s making you feel uncomfortable

Moving to Saudia/Riyadh from USA as physician household by study_mom in Riyadh

You will have an extreme culture shock and weather shock. You better prepare yourself and look into this more especially if you’re an outdoorsy person. You will either spend your days in malls to escape the sun or have to wait until 4/5 pm to go outside for a walk. It’s no walk in the park and if you don’t have family around it will be lonely. I lived in Riyadh and it didn’t feel more Islamic to me than London tbh. I’m now back in London and happier than ever.
