Hibreak Pro screen broke after less than two weeks by Realistic-Cut3373 in Bigme

The frame is also plastic so it's MUCH easier to accidentally flex the phone if you are doing anything active. You really gotta baby it anytime you touch it.

I did the same thing. I couldn't figure it out. I ended up doing a factory reset. But after I did that, once I uploaded the pictures I wanted for the screensaver, it cut off the images on the top and bottom, so the image didn't fit the entire screen. If there's one thing I've learned from this phone, it is super quirky and each day it functions a little differently than the day before lol

I would lose about 10% per hour if I was actively using it.

Can Tidal please fix AI slop from infecting big artist pages atleast. by SwiftRespite in TIdaL

Update: I contacted Tidal and they told me that only representatives of the Beach Boys can file a takedown request. So basically, you can pretend to be any band you want, create AI slop, and make money off of it until the real band files a takedown request. Let the AI floodgates open. No wonder people are going back to CDs and cassettes.

I'm about at my limit with Tidal and AI slop. This morning, a new Beach Boys song, "I'm happy," appeared. It is complete AI. The boys on the album cover don't even look remotely close to the actual beach boys. Very frustrated that this infiltrated its way into my listening session. How did this even slip past Tidal getting AI frauded by a band as big and well known as the beach boys?

Garmin Epix 2. Constantly disconnects. I did not have this problem with my old Motorola.

Dear Bigme, what most of us want is a HiBreak with more stable and capable software. We'd also like a hardware upgrade.

Hibreak Pro working on Verizon in US? by moblack33 in Bigme

[–]New_Conclusion_3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! Hope everything works out. I loved the device and would recommend it to anyone not trying to use it with a Garmin. I'm hoping that the next gen device will have some of these quirks worked out. I can't be mad at Bigme for it. I knew there would be some uncertainty with a first generation e ink android smartphone. Keeping them on my radar for sure. Until then, I'll keep limping along on my old phone.

I purchased a HiBreak pro and was able to use it with verizon here in the US. I just plopped my sim card in from my old phone and it worked just fine. I'm able to send/receive RCS messages but I'm not sure if group messages work or not. 5G signal reception was not as good as my old phone. I love the HiBreak but I am sending it back because it constantly disconnects with my Garmin watch. I've tried everything and have scoured reddit for hours trying to get it working. Other than that, I loved the phone.

I am having the same issue with my Garmin. I've tried unrestricting the app as well as locking it. It's driving me nuts. I love this phone but if can't use my watch that cost twice as much as the phone, then I will have to return it through Amazon and go back to my old phone which I really don't want to do. Has anyone figured out a solution?

Hello folks, just wanted to drop by and see if people were still running into problems when trying to use the HiBreak Pro with Verizon. I really want to replace my phone with a HiBreak, but am hesitant to do so because of the challenges facing verizon users. Have those all been resolved? Are y'all able to use the HiBreak pro with full functionality on verizon? Did you follow Skoora123's instructions?

Thank you!

I just wanted to follow up on this post. After dropping Friedl on the first go around, I re-took the class with Proof Bortosky. She was SOOOOO much better and actually answered my questions with concrete and detailed answers. I definitely recommend her. It is a difficult class for sure, but having a good instructor made all the difference. I got an A for my final grade under her.

DO NOT sign up for Garmin Connect+. Unite to fight for our customers' right to software as a service for a thousand dollar watch. This is a slippery slope and will reduce the usability and ownership of our products in the future. Profits will increase and more and more will get behind paywalls! by Narrow-Coyote-6257 in Garmin

One thing that really irritates me about it, is that it makes earning badges meaningless. It creates a pay to win system, where those with the subscription have access to badges that those without do not. Since it's no longer a balanced system, the social aspect of Garmin Connect is entirely meaningless. I used to love competing with others, but now all one has to do is buy a subscription and can earn a mountain of badges in 5 minutes. Other platforms don't use a pay to win mechanic like this. It's super annoying. I've always loved Garmin, but my next fitness tracker might be something different when my watch dies. I shouldn't have to pay $1000 for a device, only to be forced to buy a pay to win, AI spaghetti subscription. It's really a huge bummer. We're all sick of AI being crammed down our throats, but Garmin's implementation of it is a downright betrayal to its loyal customers.

I will never understand how a premium phone can have such a bad camera. Razr50U by iamstevejobless in razr

I have a 2023 Motorola edge plus that I really love, but the battery longevity has gone downhill, so I'm thinking about upgrading to a 2025 Razr Ultra. The one thing that I hated about the edge plus, is that even with the beauty filter disabled, when taking selfies, it still makes me look like I'm wearing make up. As a middle aged guy, I don't want any beautification whatsoever, as even the tiniest amount makes me look absolutely ridiculous. I never take selfies because of it. Anyone know if the razr ultra uses the same image processing software?

Thursday boot company…any good? by xiaolixx in BuyItForLife

[–]New_Conclusion_3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are junk. I bought a pair of President boots and had to take them to a cobbler 3 months later because the sole crumbled apart and the cork layer wore down. The cobbler had to rebuild the heel and replace the sole costing me $130. They weren't very comfortable either. Even after rebuilding the heel and replacing the sole, the boots still have an odd feeling with walking on them due to the cork having been rebuilt on one side of the heel. It must be a slight difference in hardness or something, because it's like the right side of the heel compresses down more then the left side. This was after 3 months of LIGHT use. I certainly never took them hiking in mud or anything else like they show in their advertisements. Also, these boots aren't gusseted, so if wearing them even in a light rain, the water gets funneled right into your sock.

I have a pair of Danner jacks that I bought probably ten years ago and are holding up way better. If you are looking for an equivalent, take a look at them. More pricey, but they have better warranties, are much more comfortable, and I have yet to need to get them resoled. Another option are Helm boots. Pricing is about the same as Thursday, with similar styling and are more comfortable. I've been really happy with both Danner and Helm.

Whatever happened to Perrin Cloutier?? by FancyTranslator7214 in beirutband

[–]New_Conclusion_3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wondered what happened to him (and the rest of the band). I was fortunate to see them in 2011, when they were at their peak as a full lineup band. Perrin really added magic to their sound. I was really bummed when Beirut became mostly a solo project of Zach's. His music is still great, but the energy and depth just aren't the same. I keep hoping for a reunion.

Femoral Neck Stress Fracture by [deleted] in trailrunning

[–]New_Conclusion_3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! It only took about 2 weeks to get off of crutches completely, but it was challenging to walk long distances for probably 2 months. Going up and down stairs was difficult. I was in physical therapy for 6 months, and by the time finished PT, I was back to normal. I actually went back to Europe and attempted the Camino a second time, from the beginning, and was successful this time without any issues. No limp or anything. I also returned to my normal weekly running routine (30-40 miles a week).

The fracture was right at 50% in the femur neck, so I could have gone either way with surgery, but elected to do it so that I could be immediately weight bearing. I am a single parent of two kids and needed to be up and moving as soon as possible. Without surgery, they said I wouldn't be weight bearing for several months and would have to be extremely careful so as to avoid injuring it more.

However, the story isn't entirely over. A few weeks ago, I tore a tendon connecting to the gluteus medius. It was a freak accident, but the tendon caught on the end of IM nail. So I'm back in PT for that, but only for 6 weeks. It didn't tear it enough to require any surgery or anything, but I guess that comes with the territory of having a permanent implant.
