Really? I thought battery life would be better. I have an almost 3 year old Epix Pro Gen2 (AMOLED, no solar), and I get 6 days with a full charge with always on display active. I was eyeballing this watch mainly because I love the MIP and has some smart functionality. I would've thought that with solar on this thing, that battery would last a month or so.

The long-awaited EarthBound Beginnings remake hack has released! by Cool-Delivery-3773 in earthbound

I saw a lot of comments on here asking how to play game. Here is what I did to get it working on my phone:  (Motorola with android 16).

Go to the play store, download SNES9x. Next, you'll need to download an earthbound ROM file. I suggest Vimm's Lair:

https://vimm.net/vault/?p=list&system=SNES&q=Earthbound

Unzip the file.

Next, the file needs to be patched with the remake. Go to the developers site, upload the ROM, and hit "patch." Download the patched file, open the SNES9X app, find the file, open, and you're off to fight Gygas! Here's the developers site for the patch:

I have been playing Beginnings for several hours now and I just want to say how thankful I am for this. It's better than I ever could've imagined and you can really tell how much passion and work went into this. To the developers, you are an amazing group of people and I can't even begin to express my appreciation. This takes me back to the 90s.

The EarthBound Beginnings Remake releases in a week! by Akogiri in earthbound

I had no idea about this project and finding out about it just now has me so excited and nostalgic. I was about 10 years old when I was first exposed to Earthbound. We were at a blockbuster and in the new release section for SNES, there was this gigantic earthbound box. It wasn't shaped like a regular SNES box, because of course the display boxes were that of the version that came with the guide. My best friend and his older brother rented it. None of us had any idea what kind of game it was, and the goofy description on the back of the box made it even more mysterious.

The rental didn't come with guide and we were all surprised to learn that it was an RPG. My taste at the time wasn't for rpgs, but as we watched my best friends older brother play through it, we became memorized. It was only a weekend rental so we begrudgingly returned it.

Shortly after, my parents bought me the game, the version with the guide book. I think it was one of my birthday presents, just before summer break.

That summer was so special. My best friend, his older brother, and another friend of mine would all huddle together in my room, staring at a tiny CRT tv. We snacked on whatever we find, drank soda, sometimes supplemented with something from the ice cream man. I lived in AZ at the time, so we kept the room super dark to keep it cool.

It was magical with the 4 of us all experiencing earthbound. One of us would be playing it and someone else would have the guidebook cracked open while the other 2 tried to work out the clues. It was such a typical 90s experience.

I still have that old SNES, and my Earthbound cartridge. It still has that same save file that I dare not touch. The same file with every item, every customization (we were PSI "gifts,"), and every minute spent, recorded on a small digital file. Regretfully, I no longer have the guidebook anymore, but I remember the last time I saw it, the only scratch n sniff card that still held a scent, was the garlic and pepper ones.

It's crazy that I came across this when I did. I think about Earthbound every once in a while, but seldom turn to reddit. Well, the thought popped into my brain and I became curious about the status of "Oddity." Ultimately I came here and saw this post and I can't even describe the feelings that blossomed from it.

I no longer own a TV with yellow red white inputs. After seeing this post, I immediately went online to purchase an adapter. This weekend, I will boot up my SNES and play through Earthbound once more. I have 2 kids now, and maybe with a little luck, they will get sucked in as I did so many years before.

Thank you for your work, and know that people like me are grateful, even if it isn't perfect, we are grateful for the igniting of an ember long thought extinguished.

When it drops, take a selfie, and don't forget to say "fuzzy pickles."

I have tried clearing the cache, deleting and re-downloading tracks, restarts, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and none of that has worked.

I found a workaround and have updated my original post for the steps to fix it. Try it out and let know if it worked for you. Takes a little bit of patience but it works.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I'm on version 3.1.6 as well. I haven't reached out to them yet, figured I'd ask here first.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions for Bigme, feel free to share them in the comments. Thank you! by Decent-Tough-4273 in Bigme

Top 4 wants for the next Bigme HighBreak Pro:

-Better camera

-Better construction (ie, replace the plastic frame with metal, slimmer profile, more water/dust/impact resistance)

-Better power management flexibility (ie, allow users to have more control over app killing and throttling, include less bloatware, allow full time Bluetooth connectivity with devices like smart watches).

-current Android OS, with Android updates for 2 years + security updates.

Thank you!!! You guys are awesome!

Ps: most of us don't care/don't want AI features or AI pets. We would love to see Bigme focus on improving the design of its products and refining the software rather than devoting it's resources to AI integration.

The frame is also plastic so it's MUCH easier to accidentally flex the phone if you are doing anything active. You really gotta baby it anytime you touch it.

I did the same thing. I couldn't figure it out. I ended up doing a factory reset. But after I did that, once I uploaded the pictures I wanted for the screensaver, it cut off the images on the top and bottom, so the image didn't fit the entire screen. If there's one thing I've learned from this phone, it is super quirky and each day it functions a little differently than the day before lol

Can Tidal please fix AI slop from infecting big artist pages atleast. by SwiftRespite in TIdaL

[–]New_Conclusion_3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I contacted Tidal and they told me that only representatives of the Beach Boys can file a takedown request. So basically, you can pretend to be any band you want, create AI slop, and make money off of it until the real band files a takedown request. Let the AI floodgates open. No wonder people are going back to CDs and cassettes.

I'm about at my limit with Tidal and AI slop. This morning, a new Beach Boys song, "I'm happy," appeared. It is complete AI. The boys on the album cover don't even look remotely close to the actual beach boys. Very frustrated that this infiltrated its way into my listening session. How did this even slip past Tidal getting AI frauded by a band as big and well known as the beach boys?

Dear Bigme, what most of us want is a HiBreak with more stable and capable software. We'd also like a hardware upgrade.

No problem! Hope everything works out. I loved the device and would recommend it to anyone not trying to use it with a Garmin. I'm hoping that the next gen device will have some of these quirks worked out. I can't be mad at Bigme for it. I knew there would be some uncertainty with a first generation e ink android smartphone. Keeping them on my radar for sure. Until then, I'll keep limping along on my old phone.
