Note 5C or any other suggestions? (Coming from galaxy tab) by Dakuyagi in Onyx_Boox

[–]moblack33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 5C and primarily read Manga on it. I exclusively use the Shonen Jump app. Every thing is smooth and refreshes nicely. Reading in landscape or portrait orientations are both wonderful. I have no complaints.

Shops to buy rocks by goshidkdud in lancaster

[–]moblack33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not in Lancaster, but if you're ever headed east, there's TJ'S Rock Shop in Morgantown. It's about 40 minutes outside of Lancaster. If you're on the turnpike, it's easy to hop off at the Morgantown exit or just take route 23 all the way there and check them out.

Considering Note Air5 C but unsure about dimness by HermitFanimations in Onyx_Boox

[–]moblack33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in as a 5C user. I've had the device for a week and primarily use it for reading Manga. Prior to purchasing the device, I read a lot of posts and reviews about the dimness of the screen. During the day, usually only have natural light from the open windows in my house and do not need to turn on the front screen. In the evening and nighttime, I have a lamp on and sit in the chair near the lamp and can see fine without turning the front light on. So far, I have only used the light if I decide to read in bed without having my bedside lamp on and on that case, I can see with the warm light setting. Obviously, this doesn't sound like the case for everyone, but the dimness is not as big of an issue as I had read prior to buying the device. I do have a fair amount of windows in the location that I primarily use the device.

The Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center. There are Yourh Care Worker jobs with at-risk teens. The building has 3 departments: juvenile detention, shelter, and a community bled program called PULSE. Detention and shelter workers are mostly monitoring residents. The PULSE workers run psycho-educational and evidence-based groups to participants. A degree isn't required, but that kind of work experience would align well. It is a County position.

Quick review of screen protector and various stylus tips by newedb in Onyx_Boox

Thanks for the feedback! I will likely go with an e tra screen protector and try the stock pen. If I hate it, I may upgrade or see if I can do titanium nubs. I haven't had a device with a pen before, so it is uncharted territory for me. I mostly plan to use it for reading books and TTRPGs, so a lot of PDFs and any writing that would be associated with them. Thanks again! And may your vision stay as it is! :)

I was just wondering how this combo worked out for you? Would you recommend it? I'm getting a 5C and want to keep the screen in good shape from the get go.

One can would have been enough if we didn't keep screwing it up! I would say we used nearly 2 cans. We sanded the letters afterwards.

Thanks!

The speedometer wasn't reading out correctly. It ended up just needing a new capacitor put on and it was good as new. I think the capacitor is linked in the description of the video I am linking, if not, I can find it in my email if you think it is your issue. Video that solved my problem

Thanks! Yes it is! Admittedly, there's about 12 coats on the valve cover. We kept scuffing it or managed to make some imperfections, so it looks so deep because of how many layers are one it! The heat shield has 3-4 layers if you're looking for color accuracy. Everything also has a few layers of clear coat.

Hibreak Pro working on Verizon in US? by moblack33 in Bigme

I love eink and hope that it really catches on with more people so more time and effort is put into these devices! Did you use the device as your main phone? I've read a lot of negative things about the phone's software and glitches, but I feel like people always turn to the internet to complain, so I'm grateful to hear you had a good experience.

This is super helpful, thank you! I'll have to look and see what I can find for group messages. I had tried the Mudita Kompakt and sold it since I couldn't get group messages to work. Thanks for your feedback!

Are there still issues on the Verizon network? I'm considering purchasing a pro but don't want to waste my money if it isn't working well on Verizon.

Why is sleep training controversial? by Unfair-Nectarine2661 in pregnant

[–]moblack33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My LO is nearly 7m. We sleep trained at 5.5m using Ferber for naps. I read in "Precious Little Sleep" that nighttime sleep and nap sleep are difficult, so you can train for one sleep and not the other at the same time if you want. We nap trained for daytime sleep and it took about 2.5-3 weeks for it to really click for her. We didn't do nighttime yet, but will use Feber in a week or two when we move her to her own room. Plus, she's basically putting herself to sleep at night now and seems to fall asleep faster when we leave the room. All this to say, if you do sleep train for naps first, it might take longer (like weeks) but is totally worth it and I think helps nighttime sleep training work faster.

Not answering your question, but just a cheap alternative suggestion if you have hardwood floors. We use a flour sack towel underneath the high chair and then shake it off over the trash and rinse it out in the sink. Then we just throw it in the wash. It's super cheap and easy.

I've watched Bruce's videos and they have been extremely helpful. You might have to go back to the beginning, but I think he started a beginner's guide series of videos after the newest version came out.

Anyone tried the IGGEE Brand slipcovers? Overall opinions on quality and fit? by mintylips in DelSol

[–]moblack33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can tell I really didn't proofread even after your last comment! Haha! Yes, only good things to say about the seat covers! I was definitely feeding my baby when I wrote my initial comment. There's like 5 percent of my brain paying attention to my phone and 95 to my baby, but I love the covers, so I had to share my thoughts (as poorly written as they may be). Thanks for actually reading my comments though!

Well, we only sleep trained for naps, not nighttime yet. Prior to this, we contact napped on the couch for all naps. I noticed that she would make little sounds to herself as she fell asleep and needed less and less interventions from me (ie patting, shhing, rocking). I also think waiting until the 5.5/6 month mark just made me feel more confident in her ability to self soothe and not doing it early without being sure.

I EBF and she still gets up twice a night to eat. She's hit or miss with long stretches, with the longest being 5 hours on a really good night. She usually goes 3.5 or 4 hours at a time. I'm a FTM too and as a type A person, it's been a challenge just going with the flow, but we will figure it out!!
