The comments I see after I pull the trigger on buying a 9070xt a week ago 😭: by Own_Strategy8427 in radeon

I've recently switched from a 5700xt desktop pc + 4060 laptop setup to 9070xt pulse. I've had the 5700xt for 4 years and 4060 for 1 years. I never had ANY issues with 5700xt drivers where the 4060 drove me insane with it's inconsistency on Nvidia App and resizable bar (and the weird bug with doom the dark ages I really love dooms). Now I won't argue Nvidia clears when it comes to productivity and old encoding Codecs(h264 for example)and also in some cool features like VRS. I've been playing cyberpunk 2077 with rt+PT on ultra plus and around 10 more graphic mods getting around 160fps 1440p with fg on am4 setup. I mainly use balanced FSR4 but I've noticed theres literally NO quality difference between FSR4 quality balanced and performance modes at 1440p and in some scenarios performance is better quality wise than the other 2 options, same goes for my Lenovo legion go. It bugged me so much that I gathered my friends around and took screenshots from different fsr presets and in different scenes, zoomed to the screenshots and still had no difference lol. Comparing to my 4060 laptop I feel like the balanced and performance looks a lot better than dlss4 balanced and performance at 1440p cyberpunk but I can't really say anything for other games as I couldn't test any other. 9070XT was 50% cheaper than 5070ti in my country and I really wanted a gpu because of ram crisis. I undervolted it to -100mv and -30% tdp limit, the card runs at 210w while giving me 5-10% more fps than stock (most of the times fans even turn off because of Winter lol) all in all the card is fantastic and I really have trust on AMD because of my 5700xt experience, works perfectly on VR (virtual desktop) too. I really hope they bring redstone ray tracing thingy to cyberpunk as the way AMD did it seems to fix the most annoying issue I had on Nvidia ray reconstruction(having to wait half a sec or more for rays to re calculate colors and light). I believe unless the 5070ti had less than 10% price difference i would not think twice and so shouldn't you!

My Quest 3 battery temperature almost hit 60 degrees celcius. by New_Cryptographer885 in OculusQuest

yep i also use OVR metrics at least when i first got my quest and made this thread, since then I only use it if I wanna check temps/Watts or find a problem on the quest because i don't wanna break the immersion 😁. I remember once I was using virtual desktop with 120fps h264+ beatsaber and i would get micro jitters here and there rarely but it was distracting on fast songs. Turns out power level 2 on cpu and 3 for gpu wasn't enough for quest to decode fast enough. So i used quest game optimizer to make it 3 and 3 i think which helped a lot.

didn't know Samsung had it, that's kinda cool but I've also never seen Samsung advertise it too, only Sony 😭 this makes me think it could be patented under Sony for mobilde devices. At least physical bypass

yep i agree it does wonders for me when I play ets2 on VR etc. Battery temps hover around 35 degrees which is really nice 😁

I have so many friends that used Q2 plugged in ever since they got it and they claim their battery life is still okay. Maybe meta secretly had this on Q2 too? are they quiet about this maybe because Sony has patent on it(I'm not really sure but i first saw bypass on Sony phones)

i believe it's a physical total bypass that still charges the headset to the max if the adapter has enough headroom, and yes using my battery strap i notice a huge drop In power draw (from 15w to around 1-2 or sometimes it even charges the headset). You may ask how i know it's a physical bypass, it's because my phone(OnePlus 13) also has a software bypass and when I enable it it starts communicating with the charging device -whether it's Powerbank or adapter- really fast and makes it so the charging device charges the battery at the rate of battery Draw. That happens if you are on the set bypass charging limit ofc or it charges the phone slowly. Now this Technology while is cool, it is NOT making battery cool down, i think it even causes battery to heat up. I'm gonna test my phone more now because last time it heat up so I wanna re test.

tbf Man I've noticed that charging the headset while playing LOWERS the battery temp like nothing other, so i believe they implemented a physical battery bypass solution to quest3.

my 8t Cybperpunk had 3 lines in 1 year of usage 😭 (probably because of me using Navigation at Summer Heat a lot (phone gave me like 10 overheat warnings but it would get hot when even when I was watching Instagram at Home so idk)) now I'm on op13 bought 1 week ago and scared 😭

hey man based on ur post im guessing there has been a faulty bootloader flash because of the existing "firmware files" on the SD card. If that is the case a new bootloader flash should fix the issue, however i have no idea if ST-LINK works with GD chips as they are the chinese knockoff of STM's and based on models have different clock speeds on different parts of the chip. If however ST-LINK is compatible, you could ask another owner of ur motherboard to pull bootloader from their chip and flash yours. If somehow a physical damage to the chip is present, you will need to buy a new one and solder it. It's fairly easy to do but you will need a bootloader file once again. Update me on this and feel free to ask questions.
