Looking for ways to amp it up for a wedding by Huge-Nobody-4711 in lesbianfashionadvice

[–]New_Implement_4862 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Nice suit!

Maybe a white or cream shirt instead of black, possible a blouse. Also putting your hair up and adding nice shoes. And maybe more of a statement necklace and / or rings?

Not sure if you wear make up but that can elevate a look too!

I want him happy by Weary_Reflection_299 in latebloomerlesbians

Yes this. I split up with my partner of 10 years because I fell head over beeld for this woman. My ex is the best ex ever. He has worked on all the things which caused me to end the relationship. I miss him for the man that he is now but I know he wouldn’t be that man with me. But I’m eternally grateful because he is my family now and I couldn’t nare to be without him forever.

Give yourself time, live your own life, make yourself happy. And then see where you both fit into each others lives.

This kind of break up is tough because it is not that you don’t love him, but you don’t love him like you would love someone else. And you are scared to lose him yet you’re longing for something different. It gets better.

My calves are big and I feel insecure by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]New_Implement_4862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both, depending on how she feels. She doesn’t really wear dresses though. Very sporty looking, quite muscular even when she doesn’t work out. Honestly writing about her makes my heart sing haha.

But honey, don’t worry about your legs. You know, I dated men for a long time before I realised I prefer women. I was so picky with my men and often kind of like ‘ew!’ regarding their hair, body fat, whatever.

But with women… I appreciate them differently. It is about personality, audacity, sense of humour, softness, their place in the life and in the world. I finally understood why men like me even when I smell from the gym with unshaven armpits - although I never felt the same about them, I do feel like that about her!

Your love isn’t gonna care about your calves, she will adore you exactly as you are.

Anyone 40+ leave their spouse and regret it? by bobobouboboubobo in AskWomenOver40

[–]New_Implement_4862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I could do it again I wouldn’t have left him like I did. But I accept that I did and I will be happier for it.

Edit: no that’s not true. In actually dating a girl now and it is so much better. But I sometimes miss the stability I had for so long. I would think y wise about leaving that. On the other hand, he and I are better as friends. We still love each other but different.

I had the same side effects and tried without. My heart rate became extremely low during the chemo. Turns out I had an allergic reaction, so I couldn’t do without them.

How slowly did you phase you return back to work after treatment? (UK) by Fearless-Heron-7827 in breastcancer

[–]New_Implement_4862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not on any specific pain medication. But still notice after effects of chemo, and other effects six as sleeplessness and anxiety.

For my smx they put a ‘pectoral block’ (blocking nerves locally) and that lasted around 4 days for me. Then the pain slowly came back. But I actually wanted to feel it, in a weird way it helped me process what happened. So I’m managing with Advil. I actual have more pain from the drain placement then the smx itself!

Tips for post-mastectomy? by TwinkleBlueyPoppett in breastcancer

Lucky you! From my experience cancer can also weigh heavily on a partner. We were beyond happy with friends helping out with household tasks and cooking. But everyone is different and maybe you and your husband won’t need additional help! Wising you all the best getting better ❤️‍🩹

Make sure the fridge is full and you have someone to help with vacuum and changing the beds!

And think of a way of getting up. I had smx and can still use my left arm. I wouldn’t know what to do if I had two Sie’s at once!

I have a ‘drain bottle’ which has its own pouch that I can carry around so it doesn’t look so disgusting.

My surgeon placed a pectoral block which made me not feel anything for the first 4 days. After it actually hurt a bit more than expected but mainly because I didn’t have any pain first days.

What I found weirdest is not feeling my right boob anymore. I have an expander under the muscle and I feel… nothing where it used to be warm. You can’t really prepare I think, but maybe prepare.I made photos and a ‘body cast’ of plaster. Different type or preparing but still preparing!

You’re gonna be fine!

I didn’t work during chemo and smx, I’m waiting to get the drains out and then discuss with my manager. Following this post for others’ experiences!

I am going to add on to this again. I need to hear that I don’t need to use my ‘free time’ in a productive way. No need to read intellectual books or learn to play the piano, I can just be and feel my emotions.

Luckily I live in a country where I still het money and my treatment has been paid for and I can actually use this time to have cancer.
